I got my invite whilst here in Austrlia on November 18th, and paid my $3560 or whatever it was. Case Officer assigned today. I havent received any email with regards to a bridging visa, but noticed it on the forms they sent me on final application

Hi folks. I am currently in Australia on a 3month tourist visa, whilst my application for 189 visa is still ongoing. I have since discovered I may qualify for a bridging visa whilst the ongoing saga continues, whcih means I could stay beyond my 3 months, forget about returning to the UK, and then work legally until either accepted / rejected for the 189. Is this correct? Can anyone explain in more detail please cheers

Hi folks. I just received my first correspondance back today from my case officer, and have been asked to provide a few documents. At this present time I havent yet got my medical. is this now the right time for me to do this? I am currently in Australia, but I believe this is possble to do from here? Also I have now noticed that when I attend my medical, i should bring documents from my own GP back in the UK of medical history? Is this needed? I haven't got such proof, and Im not sure if I could obtain it whilst i'm here in Oz? Also can anyone shed some light as to what the medical conisists of please? Skin, body, blood tests? Blood tests for...? Alcohol? Drugs? Thanks for your help

Anyone have any ideas on this? Do they check during that 12 months wether you are still employed by said company? Who's to stop people from possibly getting a signed letter from a company and not even starting to work for them? Would this work??

thanks again for your help.will wait and see if ive passed this dreaded ielts. its been the pain in my application. I hope to god i have also kept all my payslips etc. I didnt realise they asked you for everything again after submitting evidence to TRA. oops

Anyone have any idea how much medicals cost if done in Australia? I see they are around £300 here in the UK. Cheers again

I hope to god i passed this dreaded ielts then. 3rd time lucky but still not confident in my writing Heart set on WA mate. stayed there previously for over a year, have my sister,bro in law, neices there aswell as old friends/football team/workmates etc etc. seems the place my heart is set

Ok sweet. cheers for that. I am hoping to get back to Perth as thats where family and friends are. Another state doesnt really appela to me I may manage the 189 if I have passed my IELTS at the THIRD attempt,but after not finishing the writing by 2words!!! I'm not expecting to. both times previously i have failed by 0.5 on my writing.its so annoying. top marks for all the rest (well near enough) What documents do they ask for when applying for the visa?? Im not sure if its worth doing this state nomination form etc then would it??

Where do i find the list for the 189? im awaiting my results for IELTS...but after failing the previous 2 by 0.5 for writing im not confident AGAIN

OK folks, having seen that carpenters are now on limited amount of places in WA, if i was to go for the 189 visa instead would this still have the same affect?? cheers

You mentioned am I on any other state lists? do you mean have i sent a EOI to other states? I havent no, but if i did, and they invited me it would be a case of paying for 2 or more potential visa's?? And it says if accepted they will send a form and await reply in 28days. Does anyone know what this form will entail and if documents to send which ones?? When does the medical and police checks come into this? and is their a time limit from when they potentially invite you to apply for your visa???

so you HAVE to have a job waiting for you on the 190 visa??? And has this job to be for a certain amount of time?? ie; 1year / 2year etc

Hi, was just away to send my EOI there, and after getting to the last page it says "this client has a total of 55points) I have over a years previous work in australia, so this gathers me an extra 5. When it says I have 55 points, is this INCLUDING the 5 points for SS????
