    Hello all :-)

Angiejimmy welcome to PIO, and good luck with the start of your adventure, and I and sure you will find helpful advice, but one thing to keep in mind to talk to each other, and you are all voting for Australia.
  3. A great post, and I dwell on what I have done and still to do in UK (and that is lots, so many memories) and hence this aspect will be on hold, as Australia is a unknown, and unexplored for me, and hope to avoid the comparisons as I feel you can't. UK has made me who I am, and will always be in the background, so with less than 4 weeks to go,I look forward to the future. Enjoy UK it has lots to offer.
  4. A great post, and very much hope our journey is the same as yours, time will only tell
  5. Hey richwill68 welcome to PIO, and good luck to you and your family, my advice is keep your outgoings down as much as possible, and save up your money, you can tough it out, so that you have the "funds" to ensure a better standard of living when your wife and son arrive.
  6. Another tip, is if you are using smartphone or tablet, or PC choose a "m." URL as that is a website that has been developed to be WAP friendly for example http://m.ebay.com.au/. Also if you got a good pay as you got sim say with a capped data, you can tether the smartphone wifi connection to your tablet or laptop, so again cutting down on the cost, but will mention you battery will take a good bashing.
  7. Hey tedlaraghu, I have been job hunting for some time, and best advice I can give you is to wait until you are in OZ, as a prospective employer/recruiter won't entertain you until there. Not knowing you circumstances, but if, an skilled Visa for you is possible, then get a move on..
  8. To true, go for it, and have fun
  9. Hi Jilmil, I would say its not about price its very much on quality of reception, so from the all the checks I've done its going to be Telstra, as I had a Vodafone before, and was very dissapointed with the service..
  10. Hey that's great news, and not long now, I would say little time, what have you done so far, that would help..
  11. Thought I would respond, and suggest that you tailor your resume for each application to ensure it fits to the job description, hope this helps and good luck
  12. Very much in the same situation, have registered and have applied for many jobs and have had positive responses in very much wait until you arrive. So with that in mind and the move date is getting close, will continue to apply and ensure my resume reflects that date. So dont give up keep trying...
  13. Im taking loads of mulitiways and a few adapters as the "entertainment center" (TV,DVD,PVR etc) is in one location, so 1 adapter to a 6way, a simple workaround, for now, then over time will change them out...

  19. For us its for many reasons, and hence very mixed feelings, so cant pin it to just one, but, very much what the hell, if you dont do it we would never will, so we going to give it a go, and maybe just maybe it will work, and will get a just reward for what will be hard work ahead...
