Principled and dignified .......unless asking for interest free loans from his workforce coffers, paying the bank in full for a house purchase in 6 months whilst his workforce lost theres and asking for expenses to live rent free in another house. Are we discussing that same principled and dignified man? I bet he'll get a state funded funeral.

Thats the way I see it too. Its often a third party point of view though. They know someone who knows someone affected..........not really affected themselves. Simply riding the wave of angst. Think they are doing a service by fighting someone else's corner when in fact they don't want their corner fought. I don't have a firm view either way as I see both perspectives on the Maggie issue. I lived in one of the so called worst affected areas in the 80's. Yet very few people are discussing this in the manner that it is being reported and certainly not in the manner that some posters on here are, who live not too far away. I will however tend to comment to those who seem to think they have a monopoly on the answers. Some point may indeed be correct but certain posters take it upon themselves to become self righteous by to over stating it just because you fail to write that you agree with them. Not here to massage their ego's or victim card.

Calm down, calm down la. Opinion and perspective. It's already happening pabs. The pubs in your area are full of em from 10am. Same faces sat on the same chairs drinking the same.....day in, day out. All on the dole, housing benefit, council tax benefit, disability benefits.............all drunkedly putting the world to rights and now they have Maggie on the menu. They too have made progress and no longer wear purple/blue/green shell suits and perms though, they now wear next jeans, burberry jackets and all have smart phones on contract. Come 21:00 they can be seen running down the street screaming and chanting and giving the bird to passing police cars. Mathew street will be rampant with it this weekend I'm sure. Yet in other circles in your neck of the woods nobody else seems that interested with it all. I think certain people build a rod for their own backs and can't shake it pabs..........not all have your views and certainly not the families I know in your neck of the woods, Fazakerly and Bootle to be precise. Yet they arent that politically motivated or militant and certainly don't latch on to just about every grievance they can. No hypocrites who voted Labour, hated the Tories but bought their council house and have shares in all those companies sold off. As for the funeral.............just another day..

Years ago our local Chinese takeaway (which was said to be the best in the area and a favourite of most I knew) was inspected. They found the carcuses of dogs and cats in the back yard. The takeaway was closed for some time afterwards. Thinking back we would often have spates of cats going missing in certain areas and see notices up in shops, on trees and fences etc. Usually blamed on being taken by foxes. That takeaway is still operating and always has a steady queue.

The gubmint must know something we dont. The targets they have set runs into the 100's of thousands being refused disability benefits. Where have you been? Pinch of salt?? One things for sure.................only those in real need of a handout will be getting it. That includes those invisible boys that you dont know down your local.

Also spare a thought for those in unifom we see maimed and crippled for life with head injuries, spinal injuries, loss of limbs, PTSD etc etc etc............many back at work and most either climbing Everest, walking to the North/South Pole, Sailing the Atlantic, jogging from Lands End, competing in the Paralympics or doing all manner of remarkable stuff. Remarkable what a bit of determination and backbone can do. So PB...............if my mate can lose a leg, an arm, half his skull, his ability to have kids..................and still manage to take time off work to climb Kilimanjaro after a 4 days trek with blistered stumps without a wisper of complaint then I'm sure your mates can manage a 20 meter walk to the bus stop and 16 + hours at work.

Validates my point that in some parts of the world some dont want or need billions of pounds thrown at them. Be it 2,000 in flush fauna or the millions in drought ridden Africa. In my experience they want the knowledge and tools to do it for themselves. Food aid has staved off for a few years whilst it has been running. Throwing money at it has solved little and they dont trust us with too many feet on the ground to make a difference. They dont trust us as much as they dont trust their own. We know that Africa has the most corrupt governments on the planet. Worse than ours or the USA. The % of money frittered/stashed away by their rich is peanuts to that which is frittered away by its own governments or more important to me that is held in debt to governments around the world.......and increasing. That is an issue that only governments can sort and is where this thread should be pointing. But here we are still talking about tax evasion. Barking mad. Expecting the rich 100 to throw their combined earnings just at Africa 4 times would achieve nothing!! Waste, fraud, mis management, war, genocide. No point in even argueing the issue but we are. Idealistic for sure..............but not a realistic thing to be doing. But I suppose it is easier in your view to point at those with money, shuffle a few papers, change the tax system and create a fairer society. Easier pickings and saves the governments of the world writing off a debt and putting its hands in its deep pockets. I think some have been reading too much of the propoganda that they revere.
