  1. Thank You all for the info. We are looking at coming to the Rockingham (secret harbour) area, so will ideally be looking at hospitals in that vicinity. I have been informed also that you have to work for at least 1 year in the professsion before you can lodge EOI, anyone know if that is true? Thanks
  2. Hello. I am looking for some advise please as I have heard on here via an agent that hospitals in Perth prefer you to have Nursing as well as Midwifery. I am starting my training in the UK to become a Midwife but am now unsure as to do the Nursing first then the Midwifery add on. I really want to be a Midwife not a Nurse but will obviously do it, if it is a requirement and guarantees me a job in Perth. Any advise or links to threads regarding this would be greatly appreciated as I can't find them. Thank You in advance Vikkey xx
  3. Hi. I am currently starting the process of becoming a Midwife in the UK. I have just read what you have said about doing nursing first then do midwifery as it is a must. What are the chances of me getting a job in Oz with just Midwifery? Thank You x
  4. Hi. I will be a qualified level 3 hairdresser in June (chose to do this to get to Oz) though after much research I am looking to now train as a Midwife, (starting the access course in September), as hairdressing wages are poor. I'm 32 now so hope to be making the move when I'm 37/38. My hubby and I have done our 5 year plan, something to work towards. Good luck with your plans xx
  5. Me and my husband are in a similar situation. We have 4 children and are currently retraining to get to Oz, myself as a midwife and my husband a chef. We are eligiable to apply for EOI in June, but as much as we would love to move now, financially it is not viable. So we have made a 5 year plan. After much research over the last year I have worked out a sum that we will need to have to make the move and that totals £26,000 (visa's, IELTS, Flights, accomodation in Oz etc). The only way to get any help while your husband is in Oz is to 'split up' maybe, not morally right in most peoples eyes but each to their own. The way I look at things is you have to do everything you can to provide and make a better life for you family. Just think though the Politicians are doing alot worse than claiming a bit of housing benefit to get by. Good Luck and I hope everything works out for you xx Vikkey xx
  6. Thats what I thought, but I have looked on all forms and eligibility and it doesnt mention it x
  7. Could I apply straight from Uni or would I need at least a year? x
  8. Thank You everyone I feel so much better now thats cleared up, I can sleep now haha xx
  9. Hi. I hope you dont mind me jumping in on your thread but just after a bit of info if possible. I am looking at the different visa's and looked briefly at the family sponsorship though it doesn't say if the family member sponsoring you needs to have a certain amount of money to do so?? It would be my brother sponsoring me but as he lives in Karratha WA would we have to live there awell or could we go to the Perth area? Thank You Vikkey x
  10. Hello everyone. I am trying to get my head around the visa points list. I will be a qualified midwife when myself and my family apply for a visa, (still researching which one is best to go on) Could someone just clarify the following for me please: 1. Do I get awarded points for my degree with me qualifying in the UK? 2. As I was looking last year at the subclass 175 visa it stated you needed to be in your profession for 1 year to apply but on both the new visa's it say's 3 years for 5 points. Does that mean that is the minimum you now need to work or you can work less than that to apply but you get awarded 0 points?? If anyone could help with these questions I would be most grateful. Thank You Vikkey x
  11. Thank you lebourvellec....................... As my husband it doing his level 3 in college to become a chef, (he is qualified to level 2), He has not actually worked as a chef so I wouldnt of thought he could go on any other visa as the RSMS doesnt state he has to of been working whereas the employer nomination scheme states he has to of worked at least 3 years? could he go out on the 457? I will do some research on that now. My brothers tavern will be sponsoring him as soon as he is qualified in July, so there is no rush this is just the way for my brother to get me out there. I could apply on my own trade being a hairdresser but have been advised this way is the cheaper and more guaranteed way of getting in. Ideally, I would rather wait back in the UK as I dont want to live in Karratha (Do you know what the process of that option would be? visa's etc)
  12. Hello My husband has an opportunity to move to Karratha by being sponsored by my brother's tavern as a chef (which is his occupation). I am currently researching visa's and have found this one is applicable to us, the only thing is I cant find the details I want to know about it....... ie: 1. What happens after the minimum 2 years of employment (As we dont want to live permanently in Karratha, we would like to live around the Perth areas). If he leaves the sponsored job would he have to come back to the UK or would he be free to move and find a job in Perth? 2. We have 4 children (14,13,8,7) would schooling etc be included on this visa? 3. What would be the better option: for my husband to go out alone and us follow later on (is there a time limit to when we have to go? Is this option even possible? If so, how?) as I personally dont want to live in Karratha, or we all go out together? Also if anyone has dealt with this visa and can offer or share any advise this would be great. Thanks alot Vikkey x
