Hey guys and girls... Having so much trouble with this visa stuff (before I have even sent it off) Sooo we have been tying to get the money together for a while now (unfortunately my partner lost his job in August and has been out of work since!) Nowww he has had to fly back to Oz to be with his family...using half the visa money for his flight ticket, which can't be helped and I've just come on here to see that the waiting time is 8-9 months! Which is a hell of a long time to be without my lover. I reckon I can get the money together on my own by the end of Feb which means it'll be Xmas before I see him again What do you rekon my chances of getting a tourist visa are while my de facto visa is processed? I understand I will have to be out of the country while it is approved which does mean extra expense I just dont know if I can go that long without seeing him! Also, will the fact he is now back in Australia and im in the UK make any difference to the application? Thanks Ellie

Ahhh these Visa bills keep racking up haha oh well will be all worth it when we are back in the land of oz! One more quicky...who did you guys get to certify your docs and witness your statements? xx:animal-pig:

That's great thanks katyjc and johnboyW. Definitely like being back at school and I think I am starting to over think things. I just don't wanna get anything wrong!! Definitely need to get on with it though. Fingers crossed I should have everything finalised this weekend. Does anyone know how much the medical checks cost roughly? x

Hey guys..I posted on here a while ago and then forgot my password so I couldn't get back on for a while..haha stoopid me Hope you are all well. I STILL haven't sent my visa off, been a little slack if I am honest but planning to get it sent off over the weekend. Just a bit of advice really..The nature of the household and social context statements are they written from me? Or in a third person sort of way for both of us, do they both need to be signed? and witnessed?? Does everything need to be signed and witnessed?? Neither of these statements are very long either..any pointers? Thanks in advance xx

Thanks guys. Im just fretting so much trying to get everything together. It's hard as well when we have spent the majority of our relationship in Australia and now we are in the UK. I have asked my partners mum to search through all our belgonging back there and she is sending over what she can! Hoping to have quite a few stat declarations as well. Im sturggling to get on my online banking and havw to call oz which is not only expensive but it's finding the right time too. I'm just a big old stress head at the moment! How did you guys organise your things? I know you're suppose to leave everything lose but then how do you justify sending it in? Hmpfh. Sorry for all my questions!!:arghh:

Thank you for your message wardie77! So I am ok to apply for these checks before? It is just the health check that may need to be done after? We have quite a lot of travel docs etc and we have been a little more stable over the past year or so (even thought we have still been living with my parents!) Eeek it is just a bit nerve racking. I keep thinking about what if we don't have any info. Is it common for these visa to get rejected? We have been together 3 years now and I keep thinking about all the things I could've saved if I had just thought ahead. Ahh well I am sure we will be ok

Hey guys. I am new to this forum so thought I would say hey! I am going to be aplpying for my de facto visa over the next month or so...Just collecting evidence now Would really appreciate any handy tips you guys have from when you sent off for yours! I am struggling a bit as we have done a lot of travelling and have always lived with parents etc...So yeah any pointers would be appreciated! Also I know i need to have police checks done, can i get this done before i apply? Thank you! Ellie xx
