  1. Warm in summer in England but don't need the air con....which few days are those [emoji23]
  2. Hi @Sammy1, My wife has two phone interviews on Thursday for Schools in WA and just wondered if you had any ideas as to the type of questions they may ask. Thanks
  3. My wife sent her forms off to be registered with TRBWA the other day, she is going to apply for some jobs from the UK on the off chance they maybe interested & also a guy we know teaching in Yanchep is going to hand her CV in at his school to see if anything comes of it.
  4. Can't beat a good mess about in snow.
  5. One step at a time ha. More pleasure riding on MB and tracks but nothing too extreme but we'll see.
  6. Cheers Paul, it will be something I'll be hoping to get into once settled.
  7. Hi Paul, How much is a mountain bike at the lower end of the pricing scale in Perth. At moment in uk I have a Giant Rock which is about 7 year old but won't be bringing with me as won't be worth the AQIS hassle. Do you get many decent 2nd hand ones for sale. Cheers
  8. Thanks Sammy & Yes Perth. Unfortunately we won't be there until March / April. Do they do any phone interviews as at a push we could make it there for December ready for the new School year. Thanks
  9. Sammy - Are you able to give us some more brilliant advice pls. Most jobs my wife has seen advertised are for Maths/Science do many schools not want straightforward Maths Teachers...thanks.
  10. Wherabouts is this? Cheers
  11. Thanks Paul, it's sounds like they've taken good care of your your son. My nephew has Autism so I know how testing it can be but also how caring & clever the child can be. I don't know about you but in England it took years for them to diagnose him with it.
  12. What state do you live in? Ah Queensland......forget that question. I'm guessing things could be different in WA.
  13. Somebody probably mentioned this already but if bulk billed means free do the doctors charge the health system for the cost. If you say medicare going into hospital making it free what would the point be of private, I'm guessing just for initial scans, specialist appointments etc
  14. What is the best way to find out if places like Doctors bulk bill, do you just have to call surgery and ask. Also on another forum somebody mentioned that when you're admitted to hospital the staff ask if you're private or medicare. If you say private then there is still a gap fee you have to pay, if you say medicare would it be free?
  15. Is that $400 per year and does it flash up somwhere that you've hit this cap/safety net. As you've described, it doesn't seem that bad although you're still paying medicare and then getting billed.
  16. How much would each doctor appointment be in oz for example in the last fortnight we've had our 8 month old daughter at the doctors 3 times and myself twice due to illness. Would this be a total of a few hundred dollars/less or more? So on top of medicare levy you're also paying for docs appointment & then any associated medicines.
  17. I guess it depends if you live north or south of England
  18. Is your heart really in the move? No way could I let my wife and daughter go out for two years ahead of me or even stay in the UK whilst I went on ahead, maybe at a push a month or two to start a job but not two years. What if something happened illness/break ins etc and you were not there. I think you should forget the money making in the UK and get out to oz asap, already you've waited two years for which I understand, but now seems like a good time.
  19. Yes I guess you pay for the NHS with NI but overall your not as taxed as much as in say Perth.
  20. Think if you get teacher sponsorship you can only teach in some states if not all. This means if you struggle to find work as a Teacher or should ever lose your job then you couldn't work as anything else. With the PR visa's you can look for other types of work to bring money in.
  21. Somebody I know teaching in WA thinks he gets more respect from pupils than he did in the UK but could be luck of the type of pupils/area he has found himself with/in
