  1. Hi, how many on here have made the move from Perth to Brisbane area in the last couple of years and was it a good move? Thanks Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
  2. One of my wife's training days when she starts work at her new school near Perth in January consists of teachers doing PE activities as a get to know each other. I think this is a good idea as opposed to just sat in a classroom or a hall listening to somebody preach.
  3. We were there with our one year old 2 weeks ago, 5 hours later we were seen by the actual Doctor, this even after our daughter was violently sick whilst checking in at reception. I didn't even know about that 4 hour ruling.
  4. My previous post was referring to the long waits in Emergency in England.
  5. Similar to our hospital in England then lol
  6. Send my regards to James Gordon....lol
  7. Not when you watch regional news in the UK and lots of crime stories on that!
  8. I see you're a Perth basher anyhow from your bio
  9. A few on another forum keep mentioning the crime in and around Perth and saying it's worse than London (I'm not from London). I was wondering what the views were of people on here who live or who have lived within the 2 hour radius of Perth. Cheers
  10. It was mainly for when they are really young I guess as that's when they seem to be in and out the doctor's the most with one thing or another.
  11. Could anybody please tell me if general check ups to the Doctors and visits to A&E at hospital are free for babies/children? If so is it free until the age of 16/18? I've heard that things like immunisations are still free and general baby care. I only ask as we've had visits to the Doctors & A&E in the last week or so in England. Cheers
  12. Hi Clare, She used to look on jobswa which are all government jobs and applied from there. She joined an agency which apparently look for jobs in the private schools but that agency were useless. By the time she had organised her own interviews for 5 jobs in state schools the agency hadn't even been in contact.
  13. My wife and I are leaving UK for WA in December. My wife had 5 phone interviews each lasting around 10 minutes, she was offered 4 jobs. She is a Maths teacher who has 10 years experience & has been put on the top pay bracket. We didn't think she would have a chance as we'd been told on here that people still in UK don't really stand a chance of landing a job. If anyone is unsure, give it a go, all schools were state schools not private.
  14. A bit like in Auckland then, we've been there twice and that was very changeable inside a day. I must admit we get that up north in England, we go out in shorts sometimes but still take tain jackets/warmer clothes and buggy cover.
  15. My wife has friends who live in Melbourne and love it, might be a place we'll try if Perth is not for us.
  16. We don't have a fire here in uk VS, admittedly we do have CH but try and keep it off as long as possible and put one of our fleeces on to save, we have plenty of thick walking socks and outdoor clothing. When people put CH on over here it's usually 2 months later we put it on.
  17. Are you in Perth Baz?
  18. Yeah we had about 5 weeks of sunshine! Trouble is when the weekend arrives it usually rains.
  19. I've heard that's on the skilled shortist list!
  20. What you going out there working as
  21. Do you live in Australia Stacey or looking to move out there
  22. Suppose you can arrange this for the weekend though knowing weather is going to be fine. Not like UK in summer when arrange a bbq or childrens party in the garden and it's chucking it down.
  23. Not having a go but that's what I mean it's there and people say that's what they like compared to oz but how many actually go hopping across regularly.
  24. Always makes me smile when people say it's good to be in the UK as you can pop across to Europe whenever. Most people go for a two week holiday per year if that.
