  1. It would be good idea to visit australia immigration website first. on the home page, you find "find visa" form and tell you possible visas for you. You may be able to apply permanent visa, or may need sponsor for your visa... from what you posted here, no clue how old you are etc etc which are fairly important nowadays.
  2. I am going to Margaret River and looking for restaurant/cafe that I can have great dinner (sunday) and lunch(Monday). I go to MR with friends but they are working holidays and tight their budget. Fortunately(?) I have days off on Monday so I am going to stay one night longer than them. I love eating and have experience of dining, so I want to try good restaurants. I will visit by self (I don't mind dining alone), so I want to know a couple of restaurants that are not too formal. Xanadu Winery is close on Monday unfortunately. At the moment, I will try Leewin Estate winery for Monday lunch before heading back to Perth. Any suggestions for dining out and great food (deli etc) in MR? Thanks
  3. some occupations are not selected at all.... Does it mean "no application for the job" or Immi doesn't pick the job...? I know they control the visa number (for themselves to sort applications out QUICKLY! lol), but really, the ceiling will reach end of the financial year...? Looks not easy to get indivisual visa more than I thought.
  4. Congrats! It will be helpful if you mention your occupation as well, to give "hope" for people who applied the same occupation  Looks they are working this Friday night
  5. For the information, check the immigration website, --skillSelect ---skilled workers ----If you receive an invitation --------Read the high lighted sentence: Be aware: If you do not make a valid visa application after receiving two invitations, your EOI will be removed from SkillSelect. As they remove your EOI, simply you have to create new EOI.
  6. What football are you talking about? "Good standard of football in Australia" would be totally different from your thought. The ball shape is oval, field as well, No net at goal but 4 polls instead :biglaugh:
  7. Thanks Munchkinella, I contacted to TAFE but they said that WA doesn't allow people who got certificate already to go back to apprenticeship. Sent a letter to TRA but, of course, no response yet. I will try workforce as well.
  8. I have Cert 3 /4 commercial cookery and want to get Chef qualification. I heard that if I have 4 years experience in kitchen after qualified (cook), can apply for Chef one, and other said that I can back to TAFE for 3 months(as apprenticeship) and get chef qualification.... TRA website doesn't show any related topics, so I have no idea what I need to do for this. Anyone know? Thanks
  9. Good luck hope you have an easy topic for your each module!
  10. I don't know which group your application belongs to, but this is the processing time http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/estimated-allocation-times.htm If you are in priority 5 ... unfortunately 3 years' applications are in front of you...
  11. I had checked the list the last year(july 2011 to about May 2012, so it was not for skillselect one though). My occupation was cook and it was "not available" begin with, and became "available" after a few months. Retail pharmacy was off/on the list, a few other occupations joined the list etc etc, some movement happened, but it wasn't every month. Just keep an eye on the list all the time as well as seeking another visa option like employer sponsored. Good luck.
  12. many visas are issued in this week already. Immi workers must get pay rise or bonus to be motivated! :ssign7: With any reason, many of us are now smiling!
  13. Sorry to hear that... I am not sure, it is just my guessing, the skillselect has "occupation ceiling number", so WA may control (or even reach) the number already....???
  14. I am working for hospitality industry, in Perth. .... where's the "profit" gone? Obviously, not to me
  15. OMG, what happened to immigration today! Great news, congrats on your visa for all:ssign19:
  16. Thanks for all who pointed this. I think Cook is filled into the "group 3".... is this right? http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/occupations/c/cook.htm
  17. No, my application wasn't DRC. It surprised myself too. I posted when I got the visa, but once again, in that time, when immi received a perfect application (medi/approval letter, police clearances etc) the case was passed to CO straight way. That I heard from my CO anyway. But I don't think it happened for everyone as huge amount of applications reached to immi in June. I should say I was extremely lucky one. I presume that if I applied in May, or even after mid June, I wouldn't have PR yet.
  18. I don't think that he has a diploma. But cook (trade) can apply for RSMS with only cer 3 of commercial cookery. I possess a diploma (of hospitality anyway).
  19. Well, I heard a very sad story. One of my colleagues applied for RSMS, but his visa was rejected. He has been working for the sponsor company for over one year as casual. The reason of rejection was "not qualified". I just heard this from my boss, so I am not sure what this mean, but I presume that his work experience wasn't enough or simply not enough evidence (papers..like certification or work history,IELTS etc etc) I did applied at the same time as him. only difference between me and him were, I am working as full time over a year and gave many evidence and wrote work experience (not just name of restaurants but what Ive done, how I worked etc) for my visa. Just notes.... Our occupation is cook, region is Perth WA. He and I didn't use MA. I applied 7th June - got visa 14 June. He got the nomination approval letter in june from immi.
  20. To check RSMS and EMS processing, we can use e-mail address. But as littlegreenman mentioned, GSM stop using e-mail but the website. When I applied for Graduate visa, I used the e-mail address regularly, but one day I received a reply which said they no longer use the e-mail system but the website. actually I found the e-mail addresses from my past e-mails... Information concerning allocation timeframes is updated regularly and can be obtained by sending a blank email to: aspc.processing@immi.gov.au (for applications being processed in Adelaide) or gsmb.information@immi.gov.au (for applications being processed in Brisbane) But I don't know the adds are still valid...
  21. Thanks all! There is really desert weather, isn't it... Looks not freezing cold, but cool enough to sleep outside... ok, I will use two sleeping bags for good rest...As I did in Kimberly. Before I came to aus(6years ago) I didn't think that aus has winter... I am really looking forward to go there!!
  22. Yes, But "cook" is only1800 even it was pretty popular "job" for getting visa in those days. I guess, the number may consider the possibility of "employment sponsor visa". Chef/cook can get sponsor from their work easy nowadays. If Immigration received so many sponsor visa from those kind of industries, they don't have to give a huge number... Cos sponsor visa has condition which the nominee has to work for the sponsor for two years(RSMS) or more(ENS)....
  23. Cook 1800 .... I'm glad I got one through RSMS... Chef 5000, Hairdresser 4000 ... those were popular "migration jobs" in a few years back. Most of them could get PR through employer sponsorship though....
  24. Hi people who live in NT! I am going to Kakadu NP end of July, but wondering how much temperature there. NT (around darwin) is quite North side, so shouldn't be so cold, I hope. When I traveled through Kimberlery in July in other year, the temp hit 3 degree at the night and freezing cold.... Thanks
  25. Very poor situation you are in... Yes, your "2 years" will start when your visa is granted, unfortunately.
