  1. Hi Brian, It will have to be you who’s sits the English test as you are the main applicant. Your GF Is required to fulfil her English language requirements also. I think she can use her UK passport for this unless it has changed since I applied. I’m sure someone will come along to correct me if I’m wrong. I sat the IELTS twice to get a superior score. Missed it by 0.5 the first time. These tests were not easy even for me as a British born, bred & taught in English person! So plenty of practice is advised! Although I only used the online material available and did not purchase any additional. I can not comment on other tests but I’m sure there are others that can help. Also I think there is a thread related to this somewhere Hope this helps. Sara
  2. @Kriss Hi Kriss, I am a UK registered nurse moving back to Australia at the end of the month. I applied for 3 jobs and had phone interviews for all of them. All 3 were positive with 2 job offers and the 3rd one is looking good too I got in touch with potential employers as soon as jobs I was interested in were advertised. I sent them my CV with a cover letter explaining my plans to return to Australia. Luckily I had a response from everyone I contacted. Some have kept my CV on file for future opportunities. Depending on when you are planning on making the move I would suggest your partner starts applying for the jobs she is interested in to make employers aware of her skills and provide a cover letter explaining your intentions. As others have mentioned she will need to have registered with AHPRA so I would get that done prior to any job applications as I’m sure this would be considered in the selection criteria plus most job adverts state you must have it when applying. Happy to answer any questions. Good luck!

  4. Hi, I am a UK trained diploma registered nurse. Registered with AHPRA in 2012. Went back to UK - let registration lapse. Also panicked when new requirements were put in place. Phoned AHPRA - informed I needed to fill in form AGEN40 & resend all docs plus FIT2WORK assessment. Applied end of Feb this year. Received confirmation in April. Back in Oz now - had to present at AHPRA with docs again! Started work 1st June . It does actually state on the website that nurses previously registered with AHPRA are considered eligible for registration providing they meet other conditions such as CPD, criminal history etc. have a look under internationally trained nurse FAQ section think it's about section 32 but don't quote me on that! Hope this helps. Sara
  5. Hi, I think I remember having to contact my university to send transcript directly I also remember paying approx. £60 for it!!! Maybe this is what they want. Have you emailed your reg officer? Sara
  6. I think Kayleigh88 means that the address on the app reads AHPRA, PO BOX etc & in brackets it says 'in your capital city'. This just means the capital city of the state you intend to work in i.e Victoria = Melbourne. Glad my thread has help. Sara xxx
  7. I'm sure you will. Have you done your elective placement yet? I did mine over in OZ was a great experience. Hoping to get a job at the same hospital I went to. Fingers crossed!!! Although we have been talking about moving out there for a while now it was only in Jan we decided we were definitely going to do it & we are hoping to be out by the end of the year but as you know it all depends on Reg, Job & visa. At the moment were on a mission to save save save!!!
  8. I know exactly how you feel lol! Its the same for my husband, James, & I. Where are you hoping to go in Oz?
  9. Hi jamesandsarah, Not sure about the answer to your question but just wondering does the perm skilled visa require you to have 3 years experience before you can apply or am I reading this wrong? Thanks
  10. You need an "overseas transcript" detailing all your course details - theory and practice. I just applied for mine online, cost £60, they send it directly to AHPRA, can take up to 6 weeks.
