AHPRA and why UK Diploma Nurses shouldn't bother applying
Barbie replied to a topic in Careers and Vacancies
some people were saying, the title of your top up degree has to contain the word "nursing" otherwise Aphra is not registering. is this true.- 119 replies

Hi MartinH just to answer your question on work with sponsership visa... i am RMN , i hav had my LOE from AHPRA since March 2014 and have been applying for Jobs since May 2014, i have send my CV to over 5O hospitals and agencies and have had 2 interviews which they have not offered or rejected with the post, got references too by will just not make a decision. I belive if the posts are not filled by Australians or people with PR already in Australia then those like me and you at the bottom of the list will get the job offers. Am thinking of Appying for PR now which will cost me an arm and a leg and come March 2015 my LOE will expire and will have to start again with AHPRA. i have a Diploma and i have just completed a top up degree and am terrified to face AHPRA again.

Hi Scott I Just received my LOE last week, I am a diploma RMN and I did not have any problems regarding my diploma. I had mega issues with my English as am not a British citizen even though I have been in UK for almost 15 year had to do the English test to meet the criteria.

Its a happy day, got an email with my LOE too and it was the same as Jensik after further information was sent by Uni for criteria 2,3 and 8 They decided to assess my application under the old system. Am a bit confused though, the latter says if I present 6months after I will need to provide certificate of registration is that just the nmc current registration?

i have just had a panic after reading about the AQF assessment.... I sent off my apprication in August 2013 and more information In September which the University sent straight away and all was recived. I spoke to my Registration Officer on the 10th and he did not mention any of these changes and he just said " your application is waiting to be finalised, there is no time frame for this and we will be intouch" its sooo annoying.

Oh dear it sound like there has been a lot of changes at AHPRA but they do not want to say what they are and they just keep fobbing every off. My OET expires in July and am hoping they would have given me my LOE by then. i check emails like a mad person..lol

Hi, I belive you need to have a job offer and sponsorship from employer to apply for 457 and from what I have experienced job offers with sponsorship will Come wen you have got your latter of eligibility to register from Aphra, unless U are travelling with a different visa.

It soundly like you are being asked to wait patiently and not to keep on emailing them, that's my thoughts anyway coz i got the same reply at some point and then nothing for the next two months if i don't ring them i get nothing at all...i don't know if it is the Adelaide office or all offices are just swamped with international applications
