Keep your head down dave and yer arse up: something will come up: OH and don't let the negative posters that have ruined the forum see this as an opportunity to make you and the rest of us waiting to go more anxious with their unnecessary rhetoric!!!! Guys like northshore will give you a balanced view. I am not allowed to mention the usual suspects, we all know who they are!!!!!

Sorry to hear that Weggie Dave: there are a lot of crack pots on this site who make up negative shite about Perth, or indeed anything Australia. However, coming from you it must be true!! This has always been my concern with Perth's economy, on so called steroids i.e. boom then bust. I did see a lot of civil foreman jobs advertised in darwin. If it gets bad!!!!! Good luck mate and please let use know when your fixed.

Australia what do you like best about living here?

Looks like it. -
It must be hugely liberating watching your kids go hungry and cold!!!! While you try to feed and heat them on benefits!!Lets dig up the garden and plant some veg. Wait the the ground is a bit small when you live in a high rise!!!! Mind you with an average wait of 5 years for an allotment plot it won't be long before we are living the good life LMAO.

So if you lose your job or are below what society deems as comfortable: we have just found out the simple truth to a complex social problem. If you are poor and out of work you are lazy. I don't think so!!!! Maybe our social ideologist should try walking a mile in the shoes of those people queuing for bread and basic food. OH it was there fault, they are hungry, because the are lazy nothing to do with the cards life has dealt them, a failure in our economy to produce opportunity and training!!!! Shocking answer what a shower of smug Tory ideologist.

Me thinks you need help and deserve pity!!!

At last an honest and can I say humble human being. I wish you and your partner every success. at least you had the balls to change your situation. Your dad deserved way more respect than that pittance.

489 chance of an EOI invite on the 18th March
craigyboy replied to craigyboy's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Appreciate that Candygirl: my migration agent wants me to wait and let him fill in the new EOI. I've done it myself and submitted it so that I'm in with a chance of lodging another EOI. Fingers crossed. -

Hi all, i have lodged a 489 EOI family sponsored last week. I was unfortunately refused a 189 Independant, on the basis that the DIAC would not recognise my prior graduation experience, which had the effect of losing 10 valuable points. As stated, I have picked myself up and lodged the 489 visa which my agents says gives me 65 points. What are my chances of an invite on the 18th March? Thank you in advance.

You know what I just love u guys: when your down, there is always poms in oz to pick you up. Thanks for all your support. It's is greatly appreciated

I take it I am priority group 4 so another 10 weeks, what a joke. Thanks lLabourvellec for the fast info. I think I will put me head in the oven today . The thought of waiting another 3 months is unbearable. I actually feel depressed today. I'm looking out my window thinking what could have been!!! Any visas going for Afghanistan, maybe they will take a highly skilled professional with two MSc degrees and one an MBA and give him a chance. I travelled the country to get a band 8, and the system changed. I had the chance of state sponsorship and 2 days before I lodged they took my occupation of the list. Maybe someone is trying to tell me something. It's pathetic, but I actually feel sorry for myself today. I can't shake how upset I feel about how much time and effort I've put into going to oz. this oz dilema is not healthy for me or my family. The kids were upset last night, the wife is trying to be supportive. I'm supposed to be the dad, protector and I'm in bits.

I think you are right about the points test. However, should my migration agent not have advised don't seek!!!! Can I ask what MRT stands for ? The sad fact is I have taken the advise of a MARA agent and lost 2k. Money is tight, I will have to see how I can scrape together 2k for another application on a 489 family sponsored. Anyone know what the guidelines are saying about waiting time for a case officer allocation on a 489 family sponsored visa? I have 65 points with this route, so could be called forward on the 18th as all my documents are uploaded a full application could be lodged soon after.

Thanks Labourvellec, do you think I may have a chance of getting a refund from DIAC? How do I go about it? I will be over 45 before I am eligible for PR after the 2 years. Will I lose further points because of that?
