That's bloody cheap but how are you going to eat all that ham???? :tongue: I pay 4.99 a kilo for a full or half ham. Used to pay 3.99 but they've put the price up..

Buy a joint of Ham, (they're already cooked here) steak it, and cook as you would gammon, but only until it's thoroughly hot....................hard pressed to tell the difference.

Luckily, we applied for her licence when she was here last year.

A lake/pond is a "dam" whether it had a dam on it or not. A stream is a creek "bream" (as in fish) is pronounced "brim" An aluminium boat is a 'tinny" as is a can of beer. methylated spirits are "metho" and have innumerable uses from hardening corns and skin prior to removing, to dabbing on ticks to get 'em to drop off, to adding to home brew (depending on culture and not advisable) "bangaroo" is a marathon sex session "buckleys" means "no chance" "goon" box of wine "woop woop" middle of nowhere..............generally out bush.

and a "tank top" is a vest.

Strides

It was originally "farmed" by co-operatives who lived above the cages where the fish were grown. The fish were fed all kinds of human waste and there were many documentaries made about it ans much scaremongering on cooking forums etc. Most scaremongering derived and were financed by the American Catfish growers (I forget their real name) who were competing with the sale of Basa and it was even inferred that the USA Government had their hand in the demeaning of the fish. The Vietnamese government realised the huge potential for the export of the fish as it's growth rate is very good and began to be more pro-active in the aquaculture. The breeding/growing/selling of basa is now highly regulated and in some cases even superior to the standards of some western countries. Our family has eaten it regularly for at least 4 yrs and we love it...............especially when it's on special at 3.99 kilo...............have to buy a 5 kilo box
