1. Hi Rowley, thank you so much for that, its good news really, that would mean that they are dealing with the apps in 13 months at the moment. Hopefully they will keep up the pace. Thanks again, and best of luck with your application. Fran.
2. Just wondering if any of the newer applicants for the CPV could tell me what date applications are being dealt with at the moment. It would be in the Acknowledgement letter. Tks.:arghh:
3. Hi, congrats on making the move and lodging your CPV 173. That is the visa I have applied for too. No ideas for you about where to live as I am heading to Brisbane. Its a long and frustrating wait, with no movement on the tracker list for a while, but I think we are all hoping that there will be a bit of a surge soon after the Easter Holidays. What dates did they say there were dealing with when you got your acknowledgement letter? This site is really a great source of information. Best of luck. Fran.
4. Thanks for that Molly, its a nerve wrecking journey waiting for this CO, but hopefully worth it in the long run. x
5. Hi Val, thanks for the speedy reply. My son lives in Hemmant, its about 2 stops on the train from Manly. I was out there a few times last year, its beautiful, if its the same place with all the boats in the harbour. Its on the Cleveland train run. Hemmant is a lovely area, its a small village and has a country feel about it. Hope ye have success with selling the house. Thanks again, Frances x
6. Hi Val, Have applied for the CPV 173, my acknowledgement date is September 2011. I'm from Ireland. My son is living in Brisbane and I will stay with him for a while when I arrive. I dont have a pension, I was made redundant 2+ years ago and can't get a job. I am 57, I was a cost controller/project administrator. It kinda gave me a fright to see that it is hard to get a job for the 55-60 year olds as I will have to get work straight away. Do you have any idea if it is the same way in all of Australia with regard to the age and jobs. The exchange rate is crippling too, barely have the money from my redundancy to cover the 2nd VAC. I'm letting out the house when I go and will see how things pan out then. Best of luck to you. Frances.
7. Hi, where do I get this Currency Converter. Don't mean to be a pest but does that mean that whatever it is now, no matter what change in the rate, it will be the correct conversion until 30 June 2012.
8. Hi My acknowledgement date is 20 Sept 2011 so I have a long wait too, would love to know if there is any time when there is a rush of movement or something. The tracker on this site is great, but going by that there has been no movement for a long time. I think if you waited over there for the CO you would have to go offshore to get the visa, not sure of this. Best of luck. Fran.
9. Hi Phoebe, I've applied for the 173, but I just could not afford the 143, but I'm trying to convince myself that it was the right thing to do because it will give me time to decide whether I want to stay for good or not. My Ack date is 20/09/2011 so I have a bit of a wait for a CO. Fran from Tipperary, Ireland, going it alone at 50 +++ so have a few sleepless nights !
10. Thats great to hear Ann, I was having reservations about my age too, I will be 58 when I get there and having no pension I will have to work and I am on my own too.
11. Delighted for ye. Hope the meds go ok for ye. Hope you dont mind me asking how much they cost. I will be getting one done later this year, hopefully. And as well, do they have to be done in Dublin. I'm from Tipperary as you probably know Ann. Thanks, Frances.
12. Great news Ann and Roy, all the waiting has been worth it. Some Christmas present for ye.
13. Hi Ann, thats a long time ok, was hoping mine would be through within the year, my acknowledgement date is Sept 2011 so I'll have a long wait. Hope there will be some movement on it early in January.
14. Hi, same as that, am not getting any emails re new posts, wonder what the story is?
15. Hi Fitz, great to hear that, am in the same age group, no pension, so am depending on getting a job. Given me a boost today to hear that.
16. Hi Mike, thanks for that, I've gone into the link and put in Germany. Might just ring the Oz Embassy in Dublin as well. Thanks again, Fran.
17. Thanks for that Julie, I tried that link and it doesn't give Ireland as an option to where you are sending the money from. Do you mean the exchange rate on the day that I got acknowledged, if so it was the 20th September 2012. Sorry to be wrecking your head. Fran.
18. HI Ann, am heading to Brisbane, my son lives there. I'm fairly nervous about it cos I will be going alone. I have applied for the 173 because its cheaper, hope to earn enough when I get there to go for the 143 and also to see how I settle. I feel the same way about next year, once its 2012 the time will be coming closer. Fran.
19. Hi Ann, thanks for that. Where are you heading in Aus. I find this site very good too, but as you say its nerve wracking waiting, and I log in every day to see if there is anything new. I hope that when you are acknowledged that it means when the money is increased it will not be relevant if you have already applied. Best of luck to you.
20. Hi, In the acknowledgement letter it said that the July 2010 applications were being processed at the time of my acknowledgement. Have you applied yourself for a visa? Also I am confused about the 2nd VAC, it says 24,010 dollars and when I put that into euro it comes up as 17,800 euro and on other sites it says it is 18k+. any ideas?
21. Hi, thanks for that information, got acknowledge on 20th September, 2011. I am heading for Brisbane, my son lives there. Thanks again, will put my details on that link.
22. Hi, I applied for the 173 visa too, have you any idea how long you expect to wait for it to be awarded. Many thanks, hope things go well for you.
23. Hi could you tell me how long it took for the visa to come through, I have applied for a 173 Temporary parent visa which will be valid for 2 years.
24.
hi, I've just applied last month for the 173 temporary visa and am wondering realistically how long it takes to get my visa. Thanks.
