  1. Type in the address of the house your looking at in google, a list of web sites will pop up and click ' onthehouse ' . It will show you when it's been listed up for sale and how much for, also all the times it sold and for how much. I find this the best site. Iv found this very useful finding how long the house has been up for, so maybe putting a lower starting price offer if it's been up for 6 months or so.
  2. You'll need a letter from the specialist who treated your girlfriend, not just the GP, stating the treatment, outcome, medication if she's still on any. Get as much evidence as humanly possible.
  3. I'm rally not sure about that. It might be because you took a break and now you don't meet the length of time you need to be in that occupation immediately before applying. Something like 12 out of the last 24 months, unless that's changed. Maybe you should get a second opinion from another agent or double check the immi site too see if you can find the answer. Sorry I can't really advise. Good luck
  4. Anyway were taking it to a tribunal, after speaking to my solicitor friend and an independent agent. They both think we have a strong case so that's the plan.
  5. Your mother must be so proud of you. Everyone give Parleycross a round of applause!!!
  6. It is a tricky field tbh, I think it goes case by case but your supposed to match what you do on a daily basis to the criteria that is stipulated for the skill. My Husbands was going for Electronics Engineer as this is what he did his degree in, but engineering crosses many roles at times and he was doing this and Control systems engineering/Team leader. As long as you have the proof and you job description, daily duties and your boss will testify to this, then usually that's all you need. Carefully select the one closet but only you will know what that is. It's tricky to be careful.
  7. It is amazing how much property has dropped, you couldn't get a rental here for under 5.50 a week, and those ones weren't too great. But there throwing them away at the moment for as little as 4.50 for a brand new house 3 or 4 bed. The same goes for selling, houses keep dropping there prices and willing to strike a deal. I have a friend who moved here from Brissy just after Xmas this year, they bought a house straight away. Now 7 months or so later you could have saved a up to $100,000. Hence the reason were are buying. And the reason we only wanted 6 months lease cos we saw houses at a low that has not been seen here for a good few years and new it was the time to go for it. We could never have or wanted to pay for the same house were buying now last year. We have broken our lease and have put it on the market for $150 a week less than we are paying now, cos that's the going rate. But better that than the whole 6.50. Fingers well and truly burned and my trust of people tarnished. Must have mug written all over our faces. Oh well....never again :chatterbox: If this thread can help even one person from making the same mistake or trusting a rental agent then I'll be glad at that. Be warned.
  8. If your day to day duties match as an editor, you have the relevant qualification for that job and your bosses will testify to this then you'll be fine. My husbands job title didn't match exactly but his daily duties did, and he could back that up. hope iv helped a little.
  9. What a great post, and a very real experience. I think how you felt and feel is so accurate for many of us who have made the move. I am totally smitten with the Sunshine Coast also, Noosaville being my hearts desire. best of luck for the future..... Whatever and wherever that may be x
  10. really....have you nothing better to do or do you have anything constructive to say? I'm a clearly upset by the situation, whether or not it was 'my fault' or that your reaction would be different, but this is happening to me and I'm distressed, so if you have nothing better to say.........:arghh:
  11. actually they pretty much have along with the housing market, it's all plummeted round here.
  12. exactly that, just the 7 v 1, it is not written down at all anywhere, neither an email, letter or phone call informing us of this change, that's what is so annoying about the situation, but still we have to be held to blame and now will cost us to break the lease and rent out as rentals have reduces by $150 a week since we first signed up. We have tried discussing it with the owner but they don't care so were going to try for mediation, the file a dispute. RtA were unhelpful and rude both times we have phoned them so that's not helping either. Iv lost half a stone this week through the stress and can't sleep at night.
  13. Mine was sky high during my medicals because I was sooo nervous, they took it twice and the second time although still high she could see that it had come down abit and put on the report I was very anxious. I usually have low blood pressure and am fit and health so I was pretty annoyed with myself to have got myself in such a state  I also sometimes have irregular heart beat, again be nervous exasperated this and it skipped afew beats whilst she was listening with the stethoscope :swoon:.....any way, my medicals did get referred but cleared in a week or so, don't worry, yours didn't seem that high and I'm sure you'll fly through it. If the doctor didn't ask you or mention your blood pressure flagged up, you'll really be ok. Best of luck
  14. The word July are not written on the lease agreement. It was a genuine mistake, yes I know ultimately we are liable but even so, discussions between the land lord to change or lease from the usual 6 month to 12 months was never bought up once, or a cover letter with the new agreement. Maybe we were stupid but mistakes happen unfortunately. There was a lot of stress going on at that time as my mother was sick and my son arriving in a few days that I hadn't seen in a year. No excuse but these issues didn't help with our mistake at the time. they won't find a tenant who will pay $650, end of, prices have reduced quite a bit since we started renting. So it will not get rented out or they will have to drop the price. That in itself is part of this mess.
  15. Ok, we can leave our bond possibly and get the rent reduced or help with the difference. Just a thought.
  16. So I can only ask for a decrease due to reasons other than rent in the area has decreased and is now over priced. Rent decreases Rent may be decreased because: there is a drop in the standard of the property, room or service there is a decrease in services provided, e.g. a stove is not working In rooming accommodation: the resident is not receiving a personal care service because they are away the resident is not receiving a food service because they have been away for more than two weeks
  17. Thanks, i some people might think I'm getting upset for no reason maybe, but this has totally knocked me sideways, I guess some situations are blown up more due to the distance and feeling alone. I really do appreciate all the help and support. Thank you
  18. Thanks, I didn't know this, were only 3 months in to the stupid year lease.
  19. Thanks, I'm just very upset and it's getting to me. I can't help being upset. Times like these you need you family and close friends but there not here..... Thanks for all your help
  20. There is a glut in rentals atm, hard to find tenants, especially at the price were paying, so they'll have to drop the price to rent it out(well be liable foe the difference, or they'll keep the price high..no one rents it so we have to pay a mortgage and rent, can't afford to do this..buggered either way.
  21. We did look, it was an honest misread, we never do 1 year. I can't believe the rental company had correspondents about the fact that they wanted the lease extending to a year, and not one person passed this infomation onto us that this has happened and would you like to extent to a year lease rather that 6. Can't see how that right they can do that. We are spending 6650.00 a week on rent and now local rents have dropped to 5 to 5.50, so not only do we miss out on our house sale, live in a house we no longer like and to boot pay over hundred dollars over what everyone else is paying rent for until July next year!!!! It's a joke. I'm devastated to be honest and very upset about the whole situation.
