  1. Hi All, We are awaiting delivery of 3 parcels from the UK, we brought up the tracking information and they have been sitting with customs since 22nd July, the status is 'clearance delay'. Can anyone offer insight into why this may have happened and who we can speak to regarding this? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
  2. Hi all, My partner, 9 week old baby and me are in Oz by virtue of my 457 visa. I have been working in Perth for about 11 months. My baby and partner have recently joined me out here recently and I was told I may be eligible to family recieve tax credits and the HAP as I am the only income earner. Does anyone know if this is correct? I spoke with someone in medicare who was entirely unhelpful, she stated we would not be eligible but it was worth 'sticking a claim in'?? The humanservices.gov.au website isn't much better either. If anyone has any knowledge of this I'd greatly appreciate their comments Thanks
  3. You won't get one mate, they are not Indians as we know it! I am in Perth and they are a joke...I refuse to go an Indian Restaurant now!
  4. Hi, we have already booked the flights direct with Emirates a months ago? I have emailed them (today) but no reply as of yet? Also, the baby sling is the route we are taking, though would still like some help at security if possible?
  5. A friend of a friend mentioned Emirates will increase your baggage allowance if you are flying on certain visa's (PR/457 etc). Can anyone confirm if this is true and also who I would contact to take advantage of this? I have my partner and young daughter (of just 8 weeks) coming from Dublin to join me in Perth in early July, I am slightly concerned about them passing through security in Dubai with how busy the place is. Does anyone know if I can seek 'extra or special' assistance from staff at the airport to get my partner and child through quicker and help with hand luggage? Thanks in advance. P
  6. All my visa info has now been lodged...the waiting game begins!
  7. Thats a big help, thanks so much for the info
  8. Do Migration Agents get docs certified on behalf your behalf? Is that maybe why you did not have to get the docs certified before sending them?
  9. Hi All, I hear conflicting info about which docs need to be certified for a 457 application? I have got pretty much every doc I am submitting signed, however I do not have my partners passport bio page certified and she is now back in the UK with her passport. I didn't think the passports would need certifying? Can anyone pass on there experience? Thanks in advance
  10. Also, does everything have to certified? Even employer refs, de facto evidence?
  11. Legend...thanks for the information mate. So to clarify, a UK solicitor would suffice? I am aware of the IMMI, but a friend informed me a Police Officer would also suffice, but I wanted to get feedback from here. I have a few PO friends from the UK so this would have been handy, I also have a friend who is a solicitor but he lives miles away...
  12. Hi All, Does anyone know if a police officer in the UK can certify documents to go with a 457 visa application? Also, other than being 'certfied' do the docs need to be 'witnessed' as well? I have my degree and masters degree info but cannot find by GCSE and A Level certificates, do you think this will be a problem or will my degree and masters info suffice? Thanks guys Paul
  13. Sorry mate...i wasn't clear there. i was referring to your documents, i.e birth certificate, qualifications etc. Regarding my Gf and I...we have not lived together, we have been together since Jan, but other that the scan for our baby, a few pics and flight tickets showing we have visited each other there is nothing else...i fear they may not accpet that?
