  1. In 10 days time!!!!!!!!!!! Just saying!!!!:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
  2. I'm feeling pretty much the same at the moment. We have secured a 175 visa and like you have thought about nothing else for the past 3 years. We are going on a 4 week reccie to Perth on boxing day this year to activate the visa but I can feel my enthusiasm slowly drifting away as the days go by. I don't know whether it's nerves or uncertainty or what but I feel that I'm feeling this way because I believe the Australian dream to be unattainable for us. We are 40 with two boys and have a good standard of living here in the UK, people say money isn't everything but it bloody well helps and I'm scared that everything we've worked for we'll lose if the "Australian dream" doesn't work out. It's a gamble and if it was just us and we didn't have schools etc to worry about and we were ten years younger and we didn't have so much to lose blah blah blah........the list is endless!!! Then again we could move to OZ and get everything we've ever dreamed of.....it's a toughie! Jen
  3. You are so brave Madcow to have just made the move without knowing what you were going to, I'm certainly not brave enough for that! I know you can never be completely 100% about anything in life and i'm hoping we'll come and then be chomping at the bit to get out there permanently, that would be a dream come true. I'm just trying to be realistic I guess, that what we're doing is right for us and the kids. Oh to be fifteen years younger with no responsibilities......I wouldn't think twice! X
  4. Hi all, We are booked to go on our reccie in December which we are so looking forward to, I think it will be such an invaluable experience and learning curve. We have a comfortable life here in the UK and I have been thinking about what we will be giving up to move to OZ. Sometimes I wish we didn't have a house to sell and my husband didn't have his business to sell, he's worked so hard to build up his business and keep it afloat during these really difficult times and it's hard to think he will be giving it up for something that might not work out. For me I think I need to be 100% sure that the move is right for us and hopefully the reccie will provide that. Its so difficult and I have a million and one questions going through my head and I know what I'm going through is probably normal but is it the same for others? Has anyone moved who did have doubts but just got swept along anyway? You get so caught up in the visa process, then when you actually get it that's when the enormity of what your about to do hits home. It's bloody scary!
  5. Thanks everyone, I've only just come down off the ceiling! Such a great feeling, had our champers last night that we'd been saving especially for the occasion. Congratulations to all who got grants and CO this week and good luck to those in the waiting room :biggrin: Jen Xx
  6. Omg we've got our visa!! Can't believe it, so happy:laugh:
  7. Thanks for carrying on the thread, couldn't live without it at the minute! DIAC have everything they need from us now, so I am officially in the waiting room.....yippee!
  8. Police checks back this morning. I'm not a criminal.......yay!!!! Last hurdle jumped hopefully. Does that mean I'm now officially in the visa grant waiting room, well I will be when my agent uploads them hopefully tomorrow:biggrin:
  9. Massive Congratulations:biggrin:
  10. Oh thank god for that.........massive congratulations:biggrin: Jen X
  11. Hi Sol2Oz it just doesnt make sense. I'd really love to know how they work their way through things. The logical and fair way would be to do it in date order, but obviously that doesn't seem to be the case. I have case officer guilt every time I see your posts:embarrassed: Really hope its your turn next week, keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you. Take Care Jen x
  12. That made me laugh so much:biglaugh: Love reading this thread when I get up in the morning!
  13. Hi Claire, Our medicals are booked for Tuesday and hopefully gonna get our police checks in the post tomorrow. I've sent the 1229 form that needs completing to my ex husband in South Africa this morning......FedEx £63  robbing b*****ds, so we'll see if it comes back. My agent said that if my ex does play silly buggers then we need to show that we've done everything possible to get him to comply and complete the form, then at least we've got a case to present back to the case officer. It's just a headache I could do without, the stat dec that was sent with the application was very clear and concise about him giving permission for our son to emigrate but oh well. So just police checks for you now..........then the elusive grant, exciting!!!! Jen x
  14. Lol thanks jit7. We just need to prove that we've done everything possible to get the information from him, our agent told us to try and not worry too much about it so I'm gonna try and enjoy getting a case officer for tonight at least! Jen x
  15. Thank you, it's great news. Just concerned now really. My ex husband did a statutory declaration for submission with our application so he has already given his permission, why they asking for this further form is beyond me. I know i'm going to struggle just because of the logistics the fact that he lives somewhere in south Africa doesn't help, but just another hurdle I guess.:twitcy: And form 80:err: what is that about......jeezaloo, that'll take us forever!! Congratulations on your case officer too. Jen x
  16. So the good news is turn me PINK got a case officer. The bad news they've asked for my ex husband to fill an extra form in giving permission for our son to go. They've already got a stat dec just concerned that I'm not gonna be able to get this done. He lives in south Africa, have no address or contact details for him. He's obstructive at the best of times. What should have been a happy day is turning out to be not so happy. :-( Jen x
  17. Lol jit7, I've not heard about a case officer yet, I'm just shocked that it will be my turn soon hopefully.......in fact, gonna ring my agent today see if there's any news!!!! Thanks anyway x
  18. OMG I'm a december 5th applicant, I've got an agent too. Bloody he'll this is getting scary now!!! Big congratulations!! Jen
  19. :err: that's scary!
