  1. Hiya, My CO is AH. He told me on 13/5 that they have all the required info and the grant date will be the standard 5-6 months so like you it'll be Aug or Sept. My OH has a job lined up so he's heading out in 2 weeks. My CO said it's OK to go out on a tourist visa while I wait on the spouse visa being granted. I think I'll do that because I don't want my OH and 20 month old daughter to be separated for longer than necessary. It's all a big waiting game!! :arghh:
  2. Hiya, I got asked the same and we have a 19 month old who was born in the middle of the specified dates. On reading the crtieria more closely it says if you have been married for 2 years or more and have a child together you may be eligible for a permanent visa so my understanding of being asked to provide evidence for the last two years (in your case May 09 to Feb 11) is to ascertain whether you have enough evidence to prove you have been together for the last two years then they can grant the permanent visa. I was focused on providing evidence dating back to the start of our relationship but it seems they're just as concerned with up to date stuff as well. One big headache!!!!!!:arghh:
  3. Might be worth getting a Will made (if you haven't already got one). We don't have joint accounts/mortgage/bills so went to a solicitor and made a will just so we had something official to send in. We had bank statements showing the transfer of funds between our accounts, that was all. Send in both your bank statements to show that you regularly withdraw money to contribute to bills etc. I only sent in mine but my CO asked for my OH's. CO also said not to send photos, I don't think they carry much weight with regards to proving your relationship is genuine. You'll need to submit police checks for every country you've lived in, not just the current one. Good luck!!
  4. Good luck with the move!! It's all coming together for you at last. Will you need to organise a visa to enter New Zealand? It's never ending............... Amanda
  5. Hiya, I'm loosing track of the companies I've asked for quotes. They all seem to be around the same price but I noticed on the quote from Crown that the shipping time is only 35 days which seems a lot quicker than the other guys. I'm swaying towards them only because of the shipping time. My OH's new employer e-mailed him yesterday to say they'll contribute $10,000 towards relocation costs so we're delighted with that. I asked him if I could fly business class with it........you can imagine his response!!! Cattle it is then. $10K doesn't stretch that far but it's a great help. I'm not complaining. I hope to hear from my CO (AH) next week. My OH will need prob go out in May and we'll follow later on a tourist visa. I want to wait until the shipment arrives before going. Where are you heading to in Oz? We're going to Melbourne. I'm beginning ot get a bit nervous about the whole thing. We've spoke about it for sooooo long and now it's finally happening it seems like a dream.
  6. Hi Sinead, I had my medical yesterday at the Mater and I didn't get a copy either. Cloak and dagger stuff just to keep your nerves going. The waiting room was jumping! Have you decided on a shipment co. yet? That's my job for next week as we're waiting on my OH's job offer in writing so until then neither of us can hand in our notice. It should be sorted out by the end of this week though. I'm still waiting on a stat dec from one of my OH's friends Out of 3 guys, none of them remembered to attach their passport to the form so I couldn't send any of them in with application. One guy then found out his passport was out of date so my OH had to ask another of his mates. He sent it last week......... without a copy of his passport. Hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow and I can get in sent ot London, after that it's a matter of sitting tight, like you and many others. ' I'm gonna e-mail my CO after I've sent in the additional info so if I get a rough grant date I'll let you know.
  7. It's in the bag!!! OH negotiated start date etc so it looks like he'll be heading out in 4 or 5 weeks. I never slept a wink last night, trying to figure out the practicalities of the move, selling car, renting out my apartment, packing up, cancelling dd's etc. My parents are delighted that I'll be joining them in Scotland for a month or so. I'm a bit aprehensive about spending the rest of my life with my in-laws being less than a plane ride away. There are reasons why my OH has spent the past 6 years in Ireland!! I've got my medical on Monday so I'll e-mail my CO after that and see if he can give me a more precise timeframe so I can apply for a tourist visa. So much to think about.....................and plenty of sleepless nights ahead.
  8. Hiya, We got our daughter's certificate by descent and Australian passport in Feb. It only took about a week to process each so your application shouldn't be delayed too long. My CO has been really efficient so far and replied to my e-mails immediately. Could just have been a fluke but here's hoping he's always like that. My husband has his final 'informal chat' with his soon-to be-employer tonight at 11pm (8am over there), thank god for skype although he's not an evening person so a few Red Bull are on my shopping list today! Fingers crossed it all goes well for him and I sort out a tourist visa this week. I agree with you that it would be more straight forward staying put until the spouse visa comes through and if this job offer falls through we'll be doing just that. The tourist visa route just adds to the headache
  9. Congrats!!! One less thing to worry about now. The time'll fly by and before you know it you'll be boarding that flight to Oz.
  10. Oops, forgot to quote the post I was replying to. How long are you gonna get the tourist visa for? I think I'll need to do the same things as my husband has been offfered his dream job in Melbourne which he'll need to start in 2 months. I'll move to Scotland and stay with my parents for a month or so (and give them their final fix of their 18 month old granddaughter). Hopefully our furniture will have arrived by then and OH will have secured accommodation for us. My head's wasted trying to process all this change!!:arghh:
  11. How long are you gonna get the tourist visa for? I think I'll need to do the same things as my husband has been offfered his dream job in Melbourne which he'll need to start in 2 months. Better be nice to my CO!
  12. I e-mailed him and asked him to look for the documents again. Don't see why I should give myself extra work. Probably pissed him off big time! :realmad: I booked my medical last week and the first appointment I could get was 11/4 at the Private Mater in Dublin. My medical insurance doesn't cover it so it's gonna cost €300. Suppose it's a drop in the ocean compared to the visa fee.
  13. Hi All, Got allocated a CO yesterday (intials are NW). He requested further information, some of which I have already included in my original application. (Obvious things like copy of our passports and marriage cert). Anyone else had this experience? I don't have much faith in him if he can't even get this part correct! My nerves are gone!!
  14. Yip €20 per document but that just sums up Ireland....ROI actullay stands for Rip Off IReland, not Republic of Ireland! I'm actually Scottish but have living in Ireland for 6 years (where I met my Aussie husband). We're desperate to get to Oz as we've taken massive pay cuts over the last year and the future's not looking any better. As soon as the visa's through, we're offski.
  15. I posted the forms and the evidence recorded delivery with An Post to be on the safe side. I didn't send any original documents, just got the photocopies certified by a guard (poor guy, it took him about half an hour to go through the mountain of documents I had as evidence). I only posted my application on 14/3 so am waiting patiently for a reply from Australia House. The Australian Consulate in Dublin charge €20 to certify EACH document whereas the guards do it free of charge, what a rip off!!
