  1. Sam C, yeah!!!! Many congrats - after your long wait. You must be so happy. No more checking of emails every 5 mins. Good luck with everything from here on in. Tracy
  2. Hi Sam. We had hoped to be off Sept/Oct (as I handed in my notice at school and have no job come Sept!) But now, I guess before Xmas would be good - it ALL depends on selling the house. lots of viewings but no offers. What about you? When do you plan to go over? I know you were Sydney way as well, we might end up meeting.
  3. Hi Sam. I keep looking out for you to say you've got your Visa - it must be any day now !!!! I've got my fingers crossed for you.
  4. Best wishes for your new start in Oz and good luck with the flight. I will also be flying with a 2 yr old (when we sell the bloomin hose!)
  5. Hi Mr Ausie We had WP as our CO, and got our Visa last Tues. She quoted us the 5/6 months - but it was actually 4 months. Was very helpful on the phone and returned emails on the same day. Good luck.
  6. Many congrats! We are also heading to Sydney (when the house is sold!) Good luck with the next steps to emigrating. Hope everything goes smoothly for ALL of us that have got Visa's in the last week!!!
  7. Big congrats! That must have put a smile on your face! Everything now in place for you - hope it all goes smoothly and good luck.
  8. Congratulations Mrspotatohead! you can leave the email's alone now! Best of luck on your move
  9. So hopefully yours will be about 4 weeks from now! I hope the house all goes through on time, the less you need to worry about the better. The house is my sticking point at the moment!
  10. Hi paintpotty. We're heading to Sydney. Possibly The Hills area. I'm sure yours will be soon! If they allocate a certain number every so often - then maybe this is the start of next few 'grantings'! Good luck
  11. Visa granted today! Not expecting this quick, thought it would be another 2 weeks at the earliest (subclass 100. CO was WP) Now I need to sell the house! Thanks to everyone who answered my questions when I first applied and good luck to you all in getting your Visa's soon (especially Enaish, SamC, Attypodian, Jomac all on a similar time frame) Tracy
  12. Hi Dracona, We have WP. Who turns out to be a 'she' . Like most of the CO's - she is very straight down the line, won't commit herself to any definite time frames other than the '5 - 6 months, earlier if possible' line. Good luck. Tracy
  13. Hi Enaish, Yep there's been a few people recently who have been approved in 4.5 months- so fingers crossed for you! By the way, if you've already sold, have you made it a condition of sale that you don't move out until Visa is granted? One of my worries is IF we do sell - that our buyers won't hang on until we are ready to move out/visa granted. Tracy
  14. Hi Enaish, We are going to Sydney suburbs (hopefully Hills area) depending on finances. What about you? I see you mention 'schools issue' do you have children or are you a teacher? (we have 6yr and 2yr old girls) I have given in my notice and finish end of August, the house is on the market - which we will have to sell before being able to move, so we have not booked flights yet. Our C/O is WP, who's yours? Fingers crossed they come through quicker than the 5-6 months!
  15. Hi Queryguy I too have WP and my application was sent 24 March, so very similar to yourself. I didn't want to hassle C/O but due to my restrictions of when I can hand in my notice at work (teacher) I ended up emailing her Tuesday last week to see if she could give me some idea of when the visa would come through. She very much went with the department line of 5-6 months and said she could not guarantee but it should be between 24 Aug - 24 Sept. I was desperate for her to say the words 'it has been approved' and then give me a rough time, as I would only hand my notice in with a solid commitment that I was getting it!! Anyway....... my O/H ended up ringing her, and she was very nice and as open as she could be in the information, but still not giving a definite date. She did however say, 'it's in my passed pile' and I'm waiting to be given the go ahead for a specific date. On that info. I took it that it is coming and will be here by 24 Sept if not sooner. I guess if you do contact her you will also be given the company line of 5-6 months. I'm not sure how/why other CO's seem to be able to give a shorter time frame and in some cases it seems a specific date. Are you in a hurry to go, or needing to sell house/hand in notice at work? Good luck Tracy
  16. Hi all, Don't think I need to worry any more.! My OH spoke to my CO, and although she was very careful not to say 'your Visa will arrive at the end of Aug' - she strongly alluded to it being in her 'passed' pile and waiting a date to be finalised - then gave the 5-6 month line. I'm therefore taking the plunge and putting the house on the market and handing in my notice Monday (if I don't do it then I can't leave until Xmas!) If my Visa doesn't arrive in August I'll be jobless and possibly homeless - fingers crossed. Good luck to everyone else who's waiting and maybe some of us will meet up in Oz Tracy
  17. Hi Eragwyn, Sinead and others who have had dates given by CO's. After contacting my CO he said "....due to be finalised between 24 Aug - 24 Sept" (Applied 24 March). I asked him to clarify whether this meant the Visa had been granted and we were just waiting for the issuing/finalising date. His reply was"......can not confirm in writting..... until application has been finalised". I now take this to mean that it is not confirmed I will get my Visa during this date and that they could still turn us down ???? What do others think, and what kind of wording have others had from their CO's? Do they use the term 'approved'? and do they make it really clear that the Visa has definitely been granted? Is it just my CO (WP) that is non commital or is this standard? Many thanks Tracy C
  18. Hi Aussiedad, same for us. Our CO specifically wanted March 09, even though we had sent stuff from 10 years ago up to present date. As Amanda74 says, I think it is to cover the '2 year' criteria. We had children Aug 04 and Sept 09 and sent in their birth certificates - but they still wanted March 09. I guess it's all 'ticking boxes' for them. If it helps get the Visa.........! Good luck
  19. Hi mjandmum, Really sorry you and your family are going through such a rough time at the moment. We can only hope that the Visa's continue coming through in the shorter 4 month time frame. In answer to the first query - yes, we had a reciept and documents sent back about week after the application went in. I'm not sure all the documents came back though. Maybe they keep some of them and copy others??? Good luck with everything
  20. Amigo, congratulations firstly! Did they previously give you a date that your Visa would be granted (like others seem to have had recently) or did it just come through granted as of now? TracyC
  21. Hi all, I had my medical today in Knightsbridge and was in and out in 30 mins. Really straightforward and friendly staff. Good luck and 'no worries' to all of you who have them coming up soon. Tracy
  22. Hi Sam. Glad everything went well. Thank you for the information. I will be drinking all the way up on the train then.......in preparation : ) . Is sent my police Check to AH at the beginning of the week too, so this med is hopefully the last thing. Then the wait begins. I will look with interest this thread to see when you get your confirmation! Tracy
  23. To all those who have had their Visa granted.... firstly congrats!!! and secondly (and possibly stupidly!) when they give you a date for your Visa - is that ABSOLUTELY definite? ! and not subject to change. With so many plans to make (when/if I get a date) I don't want to hand in my notice at work and sell the house only to find out that the date given may actually change. Are you all making plans with your Visa grant date as a 'set in stone' date? Thanks Tracy
