  1. Congrats sophielouise on the visa. So happy for you that it has finally come through, I suppose better late than never. When are you planning on flying?
  2. Any news yet? I am flying out to Sydney on the 15/03/15 my work have been so accommodating and allowed me to leave almost 2 weeks early.
  3. Notice handed in, now just waiting on permission from my company for me to leave early. Have you sent an email to your case officer yet Sophielouise. It will come though soon
  4. It will come in soon Sophielouise. I'm keeping my figures crossed for you....
  5. no nothing today, all quite. it's going to be a very long week indeed. Just want to join the OH drinking the champagne!!!!
  6. Lets hope the week ahead bring lots of grants. I'm looking forward to finally having an answer after a long wait. Good luck everyone.
  7. Hi PJ2628, I know the feeling. The worst part, and I think everyone will agree with this, is when you get into the last month then everyday seems like a lifetime. Every little email notification sends you into a mad rush to see if its the visa and if its come through early. I really hope that yours comes through on the 10 month mark. Its such a long time to wait. Just busy yourself with enjoying life and try not to think about it. It really makes it go quicker. once your visa is granted where you planning on heading to?
  8. Hi CameronsDad, When did you lodge your Visa? There is a whole link dedicated to the 309/100 visa from the UK which you should ask the same question on. I'm in the final stages of the visa process. I am hoping that my visa will come though by the end of Feb. Knowing that the 28 of feb would be the end of 9 month time frame, I started to apply for jobs in Oz in September. The issue that I have found and this may only be in my profession, is that the employers normally need or want someone to start straight away. Whenever I have applied for a job the same question keeps getting asked and that is when are you relocating to OZ? Do i have full rights to work in OZ. Now inform them that I'll be heading out in march and yes I will have full rights, only if my visa is granted. As soon as they read that sentence or hear it over the phone they always say contact me when i get there. What i have do is organize a number of meetings for when I get over there. I would say apply for as many jobs as you can as it will take a number a weeks/months to get a job and seeing as Oz have just announced an increase in the unemployment figures and a struggling economy then it won't hurt. I will be applying like mad once I'm out there as I can go for interviews./ I hope this helps
  9. Congrats elzawelza, That's amazing. congrats on the grant I'm so happy for you....party time
  10. Gayle, I'm so happy for you. Lets hope that there are no more case going over the 9 month mark. Good luck with everything.
  11. Hi Elzawelza, I've applied for the same visa as you. I'm at 8 months and 6 days, but those 6 days feel like a lifetime already. I know that my visa won't be granted much before the end of the month but i still jump every time my phone goes off. I'm sure people at work think I'm going nuts. All I want to do is jump on a plane and join my OH in oz. It's killing me being apart from her other for so long. have you emailed your CO yet and given her/him a little nudge? Where about in Oz are you heading to once your visa is approved?
  12. That such grate news and 10 days before your 9 month mark. Lets hope they keep that up for the rest of us. Congrats
  13. Hi sophielouise, I'm only a day behind you so I'll be constantly watching my emails. Wish they could come though on the 8 month mark not the 9 month. good luck
  14. Congrats Limboman. That is such good news that another visa has been granted, it's a shame that it is taking close to 9 months mark for a grant. I really just want to see my OH.
  15. Congrats Chloe, I'm so happy for you. Good luck with for the future and the wedding. I'm sure your other half is over the moon. keep the grants coming.
  16. Congrats on the grant. I was wondering for all those who are reading this thread, when did you apply and how long have you been waiting? The group is getting a bit thin on the ground and it would be grate to see more people on here. I applied on the 28th of May, so my 9 month mark will be the end of Feb. Chloe you must be in line fora grant this coming week. fingers crossed it comes though. Any one else expecting to get a grant this week, bearing in mind that its going right to the 9 month mark now?
  17. Happy New Year to everyone. Lets hope 2015 brings lots of joy for everyone waiting for a visa grant. Good luck
  18. HI guys, Just a quick question, how do you know if your case officer has received your Australian Police check? when I completed my application online the AFP said that they would sending it directly to my assigned case officer. Just a bit concerned as I know that they don't provided any acknowledgement. Cheers
  19. Congrats coxy, so happy for you. Lets hope yours is the start of more grants for everyone.
  20. Hi Jo, My OH left early in the year and we have been apart for over 9 months now. It is probably the hardest thing that I have had to do. We both miss each other, but we know once we have completed this period of time in our lives, then anything else we do will be easy. You have to always stay positive and think about the things that you are going to do together when the time comes and your visa is granted. Every weekend we Skype each other no matter what. It could only be for a few minutes, but at least it means we get to see each other (if only on a computer screen). We snapchat a hell of a lot, this keep us in each other lives even though we are on the other side of the world. It is these small things that really help and make the time easier for you. No one ever said that the right path was easy. It's difficult, but just think about the amazing feelings that you will have when the immigration grants you your visa and then you can spend the rest of your life together. I hope this gives you a bit of support and relief that you’re not the only one going through this.
  21. Hi Chloe, I just came a cross your post. I'm in the same boat as well. Been apart from my wife now for 9 months now. It never gets easier, but it will all be worth it in the end. keep going.
  22. Hi Sophielouise, I submitted my application at the same time as you, by the looks of things. I was wondering did you front load your application with the health checks and police checks? I was informed that I could get my medicals and police checks after a certain time and no sooner? did this happen to you? At this rate we're hopefully looking at a February grant date, if all goes to plan.
  23. Congrats Wozzygirl & Thetippe. Such an exciting time for you both and good luck with the move. wish I was in your shoes, but I still have to wait.
