1. http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/attachments/migration-issues/23998d1398290705-acs-2613-eoi-60-points-submitted-28-02-14-experience.jpg Your other image threw me as it is different? If correct then yes you can claim for 5 points experience. However, you will need to sit ielts before you claim via EOI. I don't know how an ACS request works second time around. Can you resubmit the same RPL etc? Something for you to check. You really need to see if your hnd carries points. If so, you have to see if there is a way to get a copy. Good luck
2. http://skillselect.govspace.gov.au/2013/03/07/points-for-skilled-employment/ the relevant assessing authority provides an opinion in your*suitable skills assessment*that your employment is skilled (you must use the date that skilled employment commenced stated in your skills assessment)* Last time I will try to help you
3. ACS say.. The work experience required to meet the suitability criteria is NOT included as “Skilled Employment” and is NOT eligible for points under the skilled migration points test.. Taken from their Pdf. Believe me, I read it through for a long time too when I was applying . Tried to find somebody who reinforced my hope but just because DIAC have final say does not mean that they will believe you. The rule has been around for months and the case officers now know the situation and you are highly unlikelyto slip through the net. .. ACS and DIAC have aligned themselves and you cannot claim for it. You just risk losing your money. Everybody is in the same boat and thousands of people had to deduct years of experience. Read the expat forum threads.
4. Your previous post showed acs had deemed your closely relatedroles from 2002 to 2010. I hhave no idea why it does not show till 2012. Assuming acs had considered your job till 2012 to be related then you would not require another assessment as you could just prove you are in the same role. If your 2 years are up since the last assessment then you would need another assessment. 8 years does sound harsh but then they take 2 years from somebody who qualified withan IT degree (eg they wworked flat out in IT for 5 years including a full degree)
5. You would have to do the IELTS again before doing another EOI though as you need the points before you claim them via EOI. But it is irrelevant if you don't have enough years experience cleared via ACS.
6. As per your previous thread which I replied to,..unfortunately you cannot claim experience for the first 8 years of experience which was assessed as suitable by ACS. ACS did not give a skilled date until a few months ago but you still need to discount these years. On the plus side, you can claim education points even if the qualification does not relate to your occupation.
7. I would have to concur that hiking the prices to this extent will definitely bring a shortfall in the number of pets which are brought over. This will leave a shortfall in the cash being pumped into the quarantine centre. I find it astounding that they are now charging $1800 for a week for 1 cat / dog to sit in a kennel where it is not even interacted with. It shows that there is something seriously wrong with how the program is being run if the financial break even figure is $1800 for 10 days in a cage. For $1800 you could stay in a hotel, go on excursions and wine and dine. Unfortunately, from my experience a consultation stage never results in a deviation from the new plan.
8. They changed the rules. See the acs criteria or Google the acs experience rule change deductions. I am assuming you were claiming 20 points for skilled work experience of 9 years odd? If you reapplied to ACS now they would remove 8 years and only credit you for 1 year skilled experience which would give you 0 points. Numerous people have found that the visa case officer has come back to them in recent months and told them that they have an incorrect points total /invalid application as they have aligned their criteria with ACS :-( Check the expatforum. Your case officer may not question it but I wouldn't want to risk it myself :-( good luck
9. I see you had to do an RPL. You will need to exclude 6 years experience for skilled employment points purposes if you have a non IT related degree, or 8 years if you don't have a degree or equivalent at all. Hoping you already know this but thought I would check.
10. They have given a lot of invites for 2613 recently so you may get in next round, but no guarantee. You had a 2 year acs result, you really should have applied sooner. I assume you deducted at least 2 years from your work experience as per the recent acs rule changes?
11. Bob, would we be able to book with you now (before the price hike) for a date in about 6-8 months time? I read that the quarantine centre require payment at the time of booking, so it seems to be a possibility that they may do this?
12. Land Economist is assessed by VETASSESS who I believe will take approximately 12 weeks to assess your experience. https://www.immi.gov.au/asri/occupations/l/land-economist.htm#SKIA You cannot log your EOI until you have your IELTS and VETASSESS result. It therefore look as though you will need to hope that the job stays on the list. You can usually do some further reading on flagged occupations if you google it. The list was big last year but only 5 occupations were removed from the list. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/skilled-occupation-list.htm By that logic it is likely that your job will still be on the list from July 1st, but of course it is not guaranteed. The list will be out around the start of June, so you can either get onto VETASSESS now and pay for your experience to be qualified , or you can wait until the new list. Best to get on with it now unless you really don’t want to lose the cash if the job falls off the list. Good luck PS: You dont need an agent for that..
13. Do you have a degree or equivalent in IT? Do you only have 3 years IT experience?
14. Cats have increased from $29 to $149. It now costs $620 MORE for a 10 day stay than it did for a 30 day stay. Dogs have increased from $39 to $149. It now costs $320 MORE for a 10 day stay than it did for a 30 day stay. To put it in context. My wife and I spent £3500 on a 19 day holiday in Oz (excluding the international flights). They want a similar amount for 3 animals in a kennel.
15. I see that they are trying to make it cost neutral to the government, hence the increase. But $4500 in Quarantine station fees for 2 cats and a dog (or £3000) for a 10 day stay is quite disgusting.
16. I pondered on this myself and chose Bachelor from the list. Honestly, I do not believe thatthat it will matter too much. You are not trying to trick them or making up information. http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/173684-bachelors-honours-degree.html
17. You don't wish to pay £4k to save 1k in missed taxes (which you would have to pay anyway). The agent cannot make stuff up for you, he can only fill out a form full of info which you have provided him. Go direct and fill it out yourself. You are paying a middle man to do your own work. http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/194977-189-visa-de-facto-partners-employment-history.html http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/transport-shipping/97053-transporting-your-car-oz-everything-you-need-know.html Or ask Iron Lady Imports for a quote.
18. What is there to do? I did it DIY. Check your job is on SOL / CSOL Check requirements for skilled occupation from VETASSESS / ACS etc. Submit required docs for skilled occupation assessment. Book an IELTS test. Receive results and create an EOI Await EOI result and then fill out VISA application. Then you can book a medical (google it or search on PIO) Same for police check. You wont have a change to your 189. You don't need to pay somebody to find you accomodation, this should be a free service from people offering properties to rent. Doing it DIY is quicker as you are in control. An agent fills out your forms, keeps your passwords etc. Use an agent if unsure or if you have a complex case. If it is pretty simple then the info is on the forums and you should be able to fill out your personal details. Anything the agent does will be copying what you have told him.
19. What is your points breakdown ? I can see you did EOI for 10 before. Did you get it up to 20? When did you do ACS? Did they give you a skilled from date in your confirmation?
20. Has your EOI date changed? If so, then you have put yourselves backwards in the queue. The visa invites are done on points order then EOI order. http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/reports/report-14-04-2014/

[TH]Occupation ID[/TH] [TH]Description[/TH] [TH]Points Score[/TH] [TH]Visa date of effect[/TH]

2331 Chemical and Materials Engineers 60 05/02/2014 1.36 pm

2334 Electronics Engineers 60 09/01/2014 8.50 pm

2339 Other Engineering Professionals 60 13/11/2013 9.19 pm

2611 ICT Business and Systems Analysts 70 04/04/2014 8.18 pm

2613 Software and Applications Programmers 60 27/01/2014 4.15 pm

2633 Telecommunications Engineering Professionals 60 27/12/2013 6.28 pm

Analyst Programmers with 60 points are currently waiting 3 months to get an invite. Previously, this was more like 6 months but they have more places now (they removed state visas from their allowance). It is difficult to say if (a) you will get an invite before the end of June and (b) whether IT jobs will be on the SOL next year as they are a flagged occupation which could be removed from the list on July 1st. I assume you are claiming the points for your age, IELTS (Done?) , your experience (only mark the job as relevant from the date ACS advise) and a degree / equivalent. I applied for 2613 with 65 points last week and received my invite on Monday. VISA is now underway Good luck.
21. Thanks, I appreciate it :-) one less thing to have to worry about.
22. ACS are happy with certified copies.. VETASSESS now say "IMPORTANT: All identity, qualification and employment documents need to be submitted as colour scans of certified copies" I originally had black and white certified copies created by the solicitor. Now I require colour ones as VETASSESS do not appear to accept them. Of course, I could try being literal and submitting a colour scan of my black and white certified copy but I dont think that will help my cause.
23. Hi, I have submitted my ACS RPL and hope to apply for an EOI when I receive my response back. In the meantime I have read that I may require a Points Test Advice from VETASSESS since the ACS cannot verify my non-IT related degree. Do I definitely require the Points Test Advice? IF so, can I apply for EOI once I have my ACS information back or do I have to wait for VETASSESS points test advice? I am guessing I have to do all of the above but have my fingers crossed that I am mistaken. Thanks for any advice On a separate note, it is annoying that I spent ages getting so many docs certified for ACS only to find that VETASSESS now require the same docs certified but in colour. I therefore have to go and do all of that all over again
24. Hi, I am finally about to send off my RPL to ACS I wished to send additional documentation outside of their required documents to support my claim. e.g. Joining letter Photo to show books that I have bought Course attendance certificates. Do I need to get these certified? (As they are not strictly required). I appreciate that the docs are "not required" but surely it cannot harm my case to provide proof that I attended courses etc. Thanks to anybody who can offer any advice.
