Hi guys - any advice would be great about the idea of doing an online course in Health and Safety with the idea of securing a good well paid job when we move out to Perth...? I'm currently a Science teacher, so do have a general idea on health and safety issues and risk assessments, etc - but I'm wondering if retraining would actually get me a job, or just be a waste of money? I wouldn't have any specific experience in Health and Safety role, apart from drawing on my experience as a Science teacher. I would be looking to do the Cerificate IV of Occupational Health and Safety with the Open Universities Australia website. Any information would be great! Thanks

Hi - could you please let me know if you would employ welders with a 175 visa for Perth Area? Our visa has been granted and we would be looking to move this year sometime, my hubbie is the welder with 5 years experience and would like to secure a job before moving over if possible. Hey - Hoping you can help me out... I've got a 2009 MINI one - but can't find this specification on the "redbook" website. Heres some of the information: 1.4 Petrol engine, 3 door hatchback front wheel drive aircon alloys piano black and red leather trim 27213 miles on the clock. UK value around £9995 Hoping to take it to Perth. Hope you can give us some good news!

Thanks Mike - thats great information - I couldn't find anything on the Immi website, sometimes I'm sure they hide things!!! I will let my parents know, as I think they'd be quite interested if we end up settling out there when we go. By that time, fingers crossed, 5 years would have passed and hopefully cancer-free, so that sounds good what you're saying! Thanks again, big relief for me too, as at least it could be an option (rather than it never being possible!) :-)

Hi Sonia - Thanks so much for your reply , thats but our minds at rest a little- its my parents who are thinking of applying - and my Dad has been all clear for 2 years, so fingers crossed! I've applied for a 175 visa and are just waiting for our medicals to be cleared (they were done last week, so not long now, hopefully) My parents are keeping their options open for if we settle out there. Hope you hear from a case officer soon - have you been waiting long? Good Luck!

Hey - has anyone any experience of the 143 (contributory parent visa) when one of the applicants has had skin cancer? (or any other type of cancer) - wanted to try find out if my Dad would meet the health requirements, he had it 2 years ago and has been clear since - it wasn't a spreading cancer, but I can't seem to find any definate answers about this! Any help at all would be great, Thanks!
