It says something about penal clearance certificates if been outside Oz for a totoal of 12 months after getting permanent residency which we haven't! Cheers seems like a lot of form filling and document finding again!!!!!

We stayed in Singapore in April actually on Sentosa Island and one night in the magnificent Marina Bay Sands. We loved it there was lots to see and do! Would love to go back there again!

We live in Piara Waters close to Cockburn and its lovely. Close to Perth, the beach and shops! Quite alot of us pommies live around this area too!!

I still see lots of people coming here through my work place (I do all the work medicals!) Saying that I hear of people going back to the UK. Perth is what you make of it. There is still work to be found here! My hubby has never been out of work in the flooring trade since being here and neither have I!

My boys are almost 15 and 17 this year! So would leave it until both boys have finished school. I have no idea about college can they go there when they are 18 as thats what my eldest would be if we moved? Just worry I would ruin their lives moving back when they are older!

That's what I'm worried about wouldn't want to leave my kids here . We came here thinking great opportunity for the kids work wise etc but now I don't think it is as its getting hard to find work out here in Perth!

is medicare the same as nhs? Say I (God forbid I dont!) had to have a bypass or something serious like that does medicare pay for it or do we have to fork out? I was under the impression if it's a life or death situation then Medicare covers it but after talking to Aussies who don't seem to know how their system works I'm not so sure!!'

We've been in the same house for 2 years this coming February and have just bought a house in Piara Waters so we have to break our lease! Our rental is a nice clean and tidy 4 x 2 doggie rental which even allows a dog inside which is hard to find here! Neighbours are brilliant very friendly. We pay $480 a week which is pretty good! Wow! So just out of curiosity if you we're able to wait for your knee op and used Medicare would that have still cost as much? I've got a 13 and 15 year old and was thinking insurance might be better for them but if Medicare covers most things I'll just stick with that??

I'm so confused as to what health insurance to get!! Want hospital costs and dental but not sure which company to go through!! Do you guys all have insurance or just Medicare? Can't get my head round what Medicare covers ie if we break any bones or have chest pains does Medicare cover it all etc etc!! Help!!!
