  1. Thank's very much for your reply. very helpful indeed. Would you mind reading the below and see if i'm doing my sums wrong and misunderstanding..... OK, so: Enter Australia on ETA visa - Dec 08 Flew back to England - Jan 09 Return to Oz on ETA visa- Dec 09 Return to UK - Jan 10 Applied for Temp res visa- March 10 Granted Temp res visa- June 10 Entered Oz on Temp Visa- Dec 10 Granted Perm Res - July 2012 Now if I understand correctly, I first entered Oz lawfully on Dec 08. I have never left for a period of longer than 12 months. I have been back to the UK, yes, but I have always been back to Oz within 12 months of my last departure. So have I therefore been living lawfully since Dec 08? I think, according to their wording, technically I have. Then, I was granted PR in July last year, therefore as long as I haven't left the country for longer than 90 days between July last year, and July this year, which I haven't, I tick this box too from July. What do people think??? Am I missing something?
  2. I am a PR. got it i July this year. The rules state that you get citizenship after: 4 years lawful residence in Australia. This period must include 12 months as a permanent resident immediately before making an application for Australian citizenship
  3. I dont think you will - ive been told I wont and I applied in march! its very annoying. peach when did yu apply? or have you done 5 years anyhow?
  4. i know, she even laughed and said shame you didnt apply a week later! I said, can you push it back.... she couldnt. oh well. at leats I know its coming.... Still dont get why some peoples are going quicker than others
  5. Peach - just spoke to my CO - apparently as the rules changed mid march, and I applied the week earlier, I am still on the old system, so wont get a 100 form...
  6. im relatively happy about it, I did chase the panel doctors as I was worried they hadnt sent it, which they hadnt.. and then had confirmation from my CO she had it. and then she said that unless I heard from her I should assume everything was ok, and that I should hear mid July, if not early July.... I suppose a call to ask about RP cant hurt!
  7. Blimey.... well when I spoke to my CO she said she had everything and that unless I heard from her to assume everything was ok..... I suppose I dont want to pester her.... surely if you were a B, they would let you know first?
  8. as an aside, has anyone heard anything about medicals? I mean, i have heard nothing since I had it... should i assume that if there was a problem with it, they would have been in touch with me, the doctors i mean, before it left them?
  9. ive been told by my CO 4 months...! Peach - I could do , but I worry that by adding more info I may delay the process! Ill just deal with a TR if that is what they give me! Thinkinging about it, we did include travel documents, details of flights from April 2007, and emails from those dates, so maybe that will cover it? How would I know?
  10. Really Peach. We have been together 5 1/2 years, and have evidemce to prove that.... i supposed it depends how much evidence as whilst our photographs go back that length, we only showed bills for the the last few years, as that is all we had, as we had thrown others out. We have lived together, in both the UK and Aus since 2006.... 22 weeks, why so long? when did you lodge yours?
  11. Oh I see. but if it is a defacto visa, which is what I am going for, it is staright to Temp I assume? I see they are still working to the 4 months, which is annoying! is it 4 months, or 16 weeks?! weeks will be much sooner!!
  12. Excuse the ignorance, but I thought everyone was given temp residence for 2 years, and then PR.... How does this differ? Sorry if this is a stupid question.
