  1. yippee....thats fantastic news....you and many others will be over the moon? ZZZzzzzzZZZZzzzzZZZZzzzz
  2. A load more?....Illegal immigrants or migrants that move here to work???....how do you know this?.....That must be a big radar for them to all fit under.
  3. I think PB gives as good as he gets.....when the mob is circling he just fights fire with fire.....he provides a counter balance to all the dribble thats written about the UK...I dont see anything wrong with that....?
  4. stop and think about what you are saying.....what you are saying is the result of all the "sensational" rubbish that is written on here and in some of the press about the UK....its what you want to think because it helps justify your move overseas......your just plucking figures out of the air because it sounds good..... it really is nothing short of a joke. We have about 2 million immigrants in this country, are your seriously saying that 90% of them, which by my calculations makes 1.8 million are claiming benefits, that would mean only 700 thousand of the others on benefits were UK residents. We have had between between 3 million and 2 million unemplyed and on benefits since 1990.....I dont recall hearing about all those immigrants back then.
  5. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21522519 Just saw this on BBC.....might go some way to demonstrating that this women and her family were mugged off by the papers....
  6. You know when I read the article the first thing I did was look at the picture and the faces of those kids, particuly the older boy and girls and just felt so sorry for them.....you can imagine their emabarrasment knowing the article was going national and you can see it etched on their faces.....this family was conned by the paper.....even the mother who it must be said has to be lacking in basic inteligence would not put her family up to that knowing they would be slated by the paper.....as always in these situations its the children that suffer the most.
  7. the reality is these people are few and far between.....the media scour the country looking for these types.....she was prob approached by the media to discuss her story and her love of her kids and told it would be printed in a sympathetic way so she doesnt look bad.....she agrees and signs up....the paper then does an about turn and prints the story warts and all.....why.....because this will sell more papers than a happy ever after story of a mum and her love for her 11 kids.....we are all just a heard of sheep sucked in to the outrage of it all......you know its a joke.....if the OP does not think this goes on in Oz he lives in that land of the cuckoos where trees are made of chocolate and shaggy can be found cleaning up behind scooby in the local park......HELLO. have alook at the aboriginal population. Not this government, the previous government or any future government come to that can stop this type of thing....there will always be uncontrolable breeding machines, that go through the male population like a dose of the sh#ts knocking out a dozen or so chavvies without a thought for who's going to pay for them.....just like there will always be people that get a job for life stacking shelves in Tesco's, and never have a day off sick.....we just choose to concentrate on the negatives......why.....because its outrageous and we just love to be outraged.....human nature.
  8. Yes this thread is outrageous......I am absolutely positive this can be dragged out for a few more pages/days of the same replies by the same people.....ZZZZzzzzZZZZzzzzzzz
  9. some info for those with a slightly loose bowel movement. Out of about 300 million residents, the USA has approximately 40 million migrants living in their country......about 15 million illegal migrants mainly from mexico and non english speaking countries, work those numbers out, they manage, they get on ok, their world hasnt ground to halt, theres not anarchy on the streets and martial law has not been declared. The UK on the other hand has about 60 million residents, about 700,000 eastern europeans live and work here legally, estimates of around 50,000 a year from Bulgaria and Rumania (lol) are predicted over the next 5 years, there are estimated to be about 175,000 illegal immigrants in the UK. These numbers are tiny when compared with the USA Yes I know the USA does not have free health care.....just goes to show how lucky we realy are eh?
  10. Their english has to be good....they would have had to have a conversation with the inspector, they have to sit regular exams and complete paper work on a regular basis.....As I said.....the inspector I spoke with told me they are better qualified then us.....he should know, thats his job to know and to test engineers.....now I have to go to work.....I'm meeting a new Polish contractor for an interview.....seems to know his stuff!
  11. You should go and live in Australia.....I heard its sposed to be really good over there.....everyone lives to 100.....money trees growing on every corner......and their sh#t smells of roses.....
  12. This is quite true, I was chatting to an inspector in my profession a few weeks ago and he said exactly the same thing, he spends his time traveling the country testing and inspecting existing and new engineers......most if not all of the eastern europeans are far better qualified than the UK equivilant......that worries me more than the amount of them coming in.
  13. awwww.....caring sharing petals:laugh: its up to us to say "enough is enough".....and its up to people like you to tell us to say "enough is enough" see those posts your complaining about are members asking questions....asking for individuals advice and opinions on their experiences of Oz.....the difference here is you went looking....dare I say it "scouring the internet" for your story to start a thread....t#t for tat.....bit sad really.....its quite amazing how desperate some of the oz residents are to put the UK down.....you dont live here anymore......why let it bother you....move on.....get over it:wink:
  14. How many times have we heard "a better life for our children", its a myth.....Perth on paper looks wonderful, clean, nice beaches etc, however its a flawed paradise.....it does have a high rate of burglaries and car crime, saying that the crime rates compared to the UK are similar if not slightly worse in Oz, they do have a serious drug problem with amphetamines and cannabis, more so than the UK......its odd why people think "its just got to be better than the UK"....not the case, Perth is isolated and depending on where you live in the UK you may find it a bit boring and quiet....if you like the hot weather than thats a plus....however with that comes the flies that will annoy the **** out of you. I dont know what the job and work prospects are like over there now, I left several years ago but I do know that Oz is prob one of the most expensive countries to live in the world http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/feb/04/sydney-melbourne-expensive-cities Perth is also very high on the list, I think pretty much all their main cities are in the top 25 most expensive places to live and its getting more expensive each year. There are so many factors to consider.....from a personal point of view.....we went over there nearly 10 years ago with a similar out look, it had to be better than the UK, the weather etc etc.....Unfortunately.....or fortunately depending on how you look at it we soon realised it wasnt all that.....stayed a few years and come home.....better for the experience, never looked back and helped us realise what a fantastic country the UK is and how lucky we realy are.......Good luck!!!
  15. I totaly agree......Disney would never recover.
  16. No secret micro climate.....just a normal british winter that includes some rain and snow.....so I dont see why all the fuss is being created by people living a life on the otherside of the world.....I always wonder about that mentality.....kind of trying to justify to themselves and anyone else that wants to read it.....funny tho.....especially when you take into account the devastation parts of Oz have suffered in recent months with bush fires, hurricanes, cyclones and flooding on biblical proportions....I'd have thought rather than worrying about our seasonal snow they would be out building an Ark. Ahhhh yes the great Perth summer......a proper summer......if you like 40 plus degrees and plagues of flies......nah....give me temperate and mild any day of the week....if I want 40 plus I can go to greece or spain.....they dont have flies there
  17. There is the odd fool thats been round the world on the back of a dolphine.....you know the ones that think what they have to say is what everyone wants to hear......a spade is a spade types....other than that the hundreds that log on prove the site is popular and there is plenty of good advice available.....has it run its course???.....thats a tricky one.....with the explosion of the internet in recent years and the hundreds and thousands of other chatrooms available....facebook....twitter its no mean feat to keep anyone of them at the top of the list......Is it any coincidence that the owners of the site are the ones posting all the "sensational" and "headline grabbing" threads and the most people ever on-line at one time was nearly 2 years ago.....suggest to me that maybe things aren't as rosey as they may at first appear.
  18. I thought we had a "weather" section for threads about the weather.......maybe Ali can take a look at this??
  19. :biglaugh:.......keep it coming.....that did make me laugh.....put a smile on my face for the start of the day.
  20. sounds like a classic case of "positional asphyxia" caused when an individual is restrained in a certain way that interferes with pulmonary ventilation, they pretty much quietly suffocate, its more common than you think, police forces etc are trained against restraining in a manor that could cause it and to be aware of it.
  21. we came home because we felt our kids would not get the same quality education that was available to them at home, where we live we are very fortunate that the secondary school is top class.....many of the teachers are also ex pupils.....they have had only 4 head masters since the 50's which all speaks volumes for the school, my eldest is in his last year and starting 6th form and my middle boy is halfway through his first year and I can say hand on heart the school has been everthing and more of what we expected......There are many other reasons why we came home......there were many reasons why we left in the first place......but its not untill you have actually moved and lived that life that you truly can realise and appreciate what you left behind.....5 or so years on we still know 100% we did the right thing and have no intentions what-so-ever of returning to live....... Things were easier 5 years ago......with recent problems, recessions and sensational headlines like..... 1000 sex assaults every day......Britain facing the slowest housing recovery of the EU.......UK workless households the highest in Europe......70% of Brits living in a pigsty.......increases in suicides due to the recent recessions......70% of illegal immigrants living in London......Hostpitals banning overweight people from using their beds and Slough is a **** hole.....it must be tough making that decision to come home.......made even tougher by all of the above.....
  22. I do giggle when I read those posts about how awfull the UK is.....how dire everything is and how its just got to be better in Oz.....been reading them for years from a whole host of people.....funny how they all say the same thing whilst they are in the UK patiently waiting for their visa's and then they all say the same thing when they are desperately trying to return home.....funny how naive some are.
  23. Yeh isnt it fantastic......we've had two foot of snow where I live......
  24. I was there a couple of days ago, I have a number of customers that live there, good customers, decent people, again chalvey has been on the receiving end of some recent big improvements, which I am sure you being a local would know about and the roads system has been altered and turned into a one way to improve traffic flow, (trying to dodge all those burnt out cars lol) I am still interested to know where these burnt out cars are, there are a number of scrap yards in chalvey (of course you know that) maybe your getting confused with that....please do tell and next time I am there I will take a look....... whats all this "racial gang" lol.....what is a "racial gang"....isnt it just a group of people from any particular race?.....if so.....whats the big deal? The cafe a previous poster spoke of is now a Mercedes garage......incidently thats is in Cippenham.....and it wasnt that great.....they never had fresh toms....always used tinned. I think property prices say a lot about an area.....slough property prices are above the national average.....in fact some parts of slough has property prices right up there with the best parts of the country....the average price is about 215k which is considerably higher than the national average of 163k. Its a shame when some people feel the need to run somewhere down.....just be honest....I know and I am sure there are a few others that its not all bad....yeh its got some grim bits, its got crime, its got some run down areas....but so has everywhere else......Mygirlies.....have you ever thought of moving to Oz....I heard its sposed to be realy good......
