1. Hi Rafeyp, Why not throw in your childs birth certificate as well? Cheers, Dave
2. Hi Kayla We are moving to Sydney initially - its where my Wife is from and her folks still live. I am keen to move elsewhere before we buy property - mostly because I could never afford property in Sydney that I would want. Will see how I go winning that argument.... What about you?
3. When did you submit Kayla? Congrats on the complete stage welcome to the wait!
4. Same on the Son part... that is going to suck. He will be... around 7 months I guess.
5. We did the same with Seven Seas. I know what you mean about wishing time away - roll on the Sun. Its going to be a crazy feeling being on that plane. My first long haul flight as well! (My Wife tells me I should really not be looking forward to this part)
6. Awesome. Nah no packing. Not taking heaps with us though .... just essentials like my Son's stripey horse. In the fortunate position of staying with my Wife's parents for the first month or so. Giving work my 1 month notice August 1st - will be booking flights the day we receive Visa How much are you sending?
7. Hi Lhigman! I forget... when did you submit your paperwork originally? My CO is a bit more tight fisted with the date Dave
8. Hi Jimmy, Its from your point of application. First in, first out allegedly. So yours will be set for end of August or before (CO's quote 5-6 months right now). Unless of course your CO has said something specific to the contrary.
9. Sounds like good news! Congrats. Perhaps they are getting quicker if its only taking 5 months now. Woot.
10. It has gone a bit quiet. My latest update is that my Son's Australian citizenship has been requested and the day I receive it ill be letting my CO know.
11. Hey Marmitegirl, Congrats & thanks for updating us. So that is approx 164 days. Which puts me on track for 30th August! If only it was that easy to predict
12. All sounds very positive! Good job. I wonder why your visa isn't subject to the extra month others have had. I hope mine is 5 rather than 6 months - feels like life is nearly on pause (if it wasnt for all the frantic paperwork and planning)
13. Your CO probably would have pointed out any gaps in your application at the same time as requesting the medical. August might be a bit hopeful. Seems to take nearly 6 months for applications at the moment - so 10/10/12 for yours at the outside I guess. Fingers crossed for you though.
14. Our dates are fairly similar. Wonder if ill get mine in August too. Wish my CO was this forthcoming.
15. Well an update on my application - my CO has just (to be fair for the second time! oops) requested proof of my Son's Australian citizenship. So I am now starting this application off a few weeks earlier than planned!
16. Thanks for this Bazinga - I was about to book flights.... will push them back a little after a quick email to the CO! Dave
17. Hi Mark, well done on getting it all done. And yeah - welcome to waiting.
18. Posted police certificate today - received it yesterday. Nice and quick! Confirmed to CO (AB) that its winging its way to him at Australia House. Also used the email as an opportunity to ask which visa category I am being assessed for - 309. Oh well. Hopefully it wont impact me too much on the job front Dave
19. Hi Wardie, congrats on the medical. Sorry I didnt update as to what it was like. I went to the hospital in Edinburgh - and it was great... very quick - much unlike the NHS. I am waiting for the police certificate - so I can post that off to my CO - but then I am done I suppose as well! Please let me know when you get the visa & I will do the same for you. I have decided to stop pestering AB - after reading what you said & going over the rules again I think I am almost certainly 309 and not 100. Which there is nothing I can do about right now anyway. Good luck! Dave
20. Hi Wardie77 - my CO is AB as well. Debating asking him about which subclass I am being assessed for now after you have said that But I feel I have pestered him once too often already. Shall have to post him chocolates at end of the process to make up for the number of emails I require him to send.

Police certificate has flown the nest! I did the slow option after CO confirming it would not impact my visa time...

He said processing is 5-6 months regardless of how long I take with the police check (well regardless of a 10 day delay anyway)

22. Maybe On-shore is considered you are 'already home' where as off-shore you could be being prevented from being with loved ones and so it is more important to get the case evaluated? I suppose its also possible they want to encourage people to apply off-shore so they can refuse entry without potentially having over stayers and the costs that brings for refused visa's. ( p.s Actual processing times are 6 months from the UK)
