This is news to me, when did this start? The visa evidence inn our passports was very useful once we arrived in Australia for house rentals etc etc Charlie Charlie

You just need a tax file number (TFN) from the Australian Tax Office. Charlie

You can appeal as the legislation says that your supported has to have settled in Australia. The 2 year aspect is just a rough and ready indication. Speak to a migration agent as they may be able to advise you if it is woth appealing at this stage. They probably will not charge for an initial consulation. Best of luck Charlie

I don't think so. We had 1 year to validate our 143 from the date of medicals/police certificates. So not sure why you think you will have 5 years on a 173. Charlie

I thought the UK post service was awful until I moved to Australia. Absolutely shocking - it took one letter 6 weeks to travel 100km. Charlie :cry:

Hi Check out the NAB Retirement Account. There are no charges and it does offer about 3% interest. Not the highest rate available but we use it as our day to day current account. We then have savings accounts linked to it. Charlie

We have had a NAB account for several years. We opened it before moving out to Australia. Like most Australian banks they are a couple of decades behing UK ones - but that is what we love about Australia. Charlie:wink:

We had a similar experience. Our first agent did very little until we gave them notice that we were ditching them for another. Surprise , surprise we suddendly saw some action and we sold within the week. Keep them on their toes! Charlie
