I had a terrible experience with seven seas. Was charged extra for excess weight despite my boxes being below what I was told was the maximum weight!! Boxes were not dispatched when they should've been (essential items that I was relying on!)- lots of expensive calls to UK to try to sort, was never called back when promised. Boxes were eventually sent with UPS to about 10 different locations around the world before I finally received them in a shocking state with most items broken. Wrote a letter of complaint but no compensation was offered, just an apology for any inconvenience :sad: Had better luck with the items I sent by sea but would not use again....

Thanks. I have had a good look around & I'm thinking to aim for about $400 a month. But after tax (which I know is higher!) and other stoppages + bills etc... Don't know if I should be aiming lower + further away according to my salary!! :confused:

Hi, Arriving in Oz September so starting to look at rentals. Just a bit unsure of how much rent I'll be able to afford & don't know if I'm aiming too high! I'll be earning $64K per annum ....(as a midwife) Wanted to rent around the Cheltenham area.... Can anybody already living over there give me a better idea of what my rental budget should be?? :unsure: Would appreciate any feedback! Clare

I can sympathise entirely! I sent my application to AHPRA in September 2010. In January, they acknowledged receipt of it (!), I first had contact from them in May & received my elibility letter in July. So, 10 months in total :arghh: I'm a midwife, trained in England, educated in England, in English, but still had to do the IELTS test :wacko: Anyway, we're all sorted now & flying out to Melbourne on 14th September. Good luck with it all!

Moving out to Melbourne 14th Sept. Just getting shipping organised but can anyone advise me on whether it is worth shipping electrical items? Thinking mainly of the TV, Nintendo Wii, kettle, iron etc.... oh & my favorite lamps :cute: xx
