  2. How about the huge rise in the cost of living and now the outrageously high cost of housing. ..? See on the news that australia lies 3rd in the table for housing affordability. ..
  3. You've not missed a thing, look at it as money well spent
  4. Because if you want to live in Sydney or Melbourne your have to pay that money. Could say the same about the uk, why pay London prices when you could move to the middle of Wales and buy a big house for 150 grand, it's about location
  5. Just read a bit of this thread.... " moved here 20,30,40 years ago and don't find it that expensive" well try having a 6,7,8,9,hundred grand Mortgage round your neck and tell us how reasonable things are

  8. Somewhere around tunbridge wells or hassocks just outside brighton.., 8 and a half months .... not counting
  9. E=MARYROSE02;1936732330]Well, that is a somewhat controversial statement! If ANZAC Day is about glorifying war, then what is Remembrance Sunday in the UK? And this is the 100th anniversary of Gallipolli this year, so it is of particular significance in Australia. It sounds also as if your Aussie friend regretted her words (Was she tipsy?) and tried to 'make up.' Haven't you ever said something in the heat of the moment which you regretted? I certainly have. I've been here as long as you, and I've NEVER been called a Pommie Bastard, not even as a joke. There's always a bit of banter over the cricket of course, but never nasty, from either side. Thats funny as you do nothing but refer to English people as Pommies on here day in day out
  10. Nothing better than being happy with what you already have. Yep I'm a very lucky lad
  11. OTE=Que Sera, Sera;1936731623]Try it Paul, that way you may never ever have to set foot here again, even if you wanted too! No need to re-live your nightmare  Ive already got the only passport i need/want and it isnt blue
  12. Why can't you do it all from the uk...? If you qualify I can't see a problem
  13. Can you not do your 4 years and apply for it back in the uk...?
  14. I'm going home, don't think I'm a rat .....!
  15. Good luck.... 12 days... why don't you just go now...?
  16. [quote name=Jacaranda;19 Best of luck Paul.Where abouts are you heading back to?Gorgeous day today' date='and warmer tomorrow & Wednesday! :cute:As for the recession in Oz,it will be probably much the same as it was here.We weren't affected at all,and no one we know was either.Life continued on as always so its not all D & G! Few areas in mind, sevenoaks, tonbridge, tunbridge wells or hassocks near brighton... will make final decesion when we are back
