  1. Thank You. I'm glad things have worked out for your family and also that Aussie life is treating you well. I will contact you when we arrive, it will be nice to get to know people from the area. What are your opinions on kuluin and Maroochydore?
  2. Excellent update Jac2011, glad to hear you have settled so well. Would also love to hear more about your job. Hope you continue to enjoy your new Aussie life. All the best.
  3. Hi Ramot, Thank you. Yes we're hopefully on our way back. We came out on student visa last time, but came back after 12 months. Just looking at schools for kids, I can remember Mountain Creek and Buderim having good reputations from last time when we were considering Sunshine Coast. I may have work in Kuluin, so wanted advice on the local schools, preferably that can be walked to or get to by public transport. How far is Mountain Creek from Kuluin and is this a high school too?... How are you doing? Are you living in Aus now?
  4. Hi, Does anyone have any reccommendations or opinions they would kindly share on the schools in these areas please? We will be looking for a primary school for a 9 year old (July birthday) and High school (November birthday). Thank You
  5. Hi nineyb27, Thanks. The reason I asked was because I've just gone through the AHPRA application and seen that it says to attach syllabus and transcript! For some reason I had it in my head it had to be sent direct to them! I think I was thinking it was the same as ANMAC! Uni are getting transcript, syllabus, accreditation letter and letter re criterion 8 ready for me. Can you think if there's anything I've missed? Im panicking I'm going to forget something. I see you've recently had your visa grant, congratulations. I can't believe how quickly after lodging! Is it a PR visa?
  6. Thank you for your answers. I thought that would be the case, I was just hoping it wasn't. I shall wait until I have everything. Cheers.
  7. Just a quick question, do AHPRA require applicants to send uni transcripts and course syllabus direct to them or do we send it with the application? Thanks
  8. Hello everyone, Are there any nurses who work for or have worked for Regis Healthcare? I'm curious as to what they are like as an employers?
  9. Hi everyone, Have any of you sent your AHPRA application without all the supporting documents? My ICHC is included, NMC bits, all ID docs and IELTS, just waiting for employers to finish statements of service! I'm wondering whether it's worth putting in my application while they are being completed? Thanks
  10. What State are you living in STEVEPEACOCK?
  11. Thank you all for your replies. It's helped me work out where she would be in Aus. My daughter starts year 10 in the UK soon so would go into year 10 in Aus in feb 2016. I'm hoping we get things sorted soon as it is such an awkward age in terms of changing schools and mucking around with kids education. Does anyone know if my daughter stayed to do her GCSE's whether she could go to Aus and do year 11 & 12 ( from my calculations she will miss starting year 11 by 4 months if we get a visa when we're hoping). Cheers.
  12. I'm hoping either Queensland or Western Australia. November is the month of birth. Cheers.
  13. Hi all, If a child is in year 10 in the UK, would they be in year 10 in Aussie schools? Thanks.
  14. Hi Jac, I'm sure you'll be fine, just try to enjoy it. It is a scary feeling the closer the dream gets, but remember why youre doing it and that should make you better. I know I'll be the same when the time arrives. Infact i had those feelings a couple of months ago! but im back in to Aussie mode and hoping to stay like this. Please post and let us know how youre getting on. All the best. xx
  15. Thank you Lorna. Ithought i'd replied? dont know what happened there then?? I think i am over thinking it all! I just want everythig to right first time around. Where abouts are you in the process? x
  16. Hi everyone, I too am in the process of completing the dreaded AHPRA application! Just a few questions about the CV: 1) Will they require certificate from my access course which I completed before getting in to uni? 2) Will I have to send in copies of GCSE certificates if I have done IELTS academic and achieved a band score of 7's or above? (Can't find any of the certificates!). 3) they want past 5 years employment history - I started my access in sept 2010, then went on to start degree in sept 2011 (transferred uni's after year 1), qualified jan 2015 and have been working since. I make that a few weeks under 5 years, which will probably be 5 years by the time I apply! Does anyone know if I need to provide anything before this? (I was a stay at home mom before this). Thank you.
  17. Oh nooo! 3 1/2 years! I bet he spent a fortune waiting for that! I'm glad things have worked out for him and fair play to him for sticking it out. Just out of curiosity which area does he live?.
  18. Hi ramot, yes we were. We went to Aus 2008 - 2009 on a student visa. Did you do the student visa too?
  19. Hi jac2011, Great to hear that your plans are coming together and well done on your job offer. I'm still waiting for a date to sit the IELTS that I'm not working! How come you decided to go with Townsville in the end? Was it better than your offer from Hollywood, WA? Just curious as I would prefer to find work in Queensland, just thought they were few and far between. Cheers ?
  20. Thank you kyliedonut. Good luck with the rest of your studies xx
  21. Just wanted to ask which order is best to start the ball rolling for PR visa - I'm thinking; IELTS, AHPRA, ANMAC? I start my first Nursing post soon, so thought book IELTS, apply to AHPRA because it takes so long, then when I have at least 3 months post reg experience, apply to ANMAC. The reason I ask is because looking through the posts, some do AHPRA first and some do ANMAC first. I just want to know is there any greater benefit of doing either one first? Cheers xx
  22. Well done on the IELTS. I think it's a wise move getting the experience first. Ideally that is what I should do, however our daughter is in year 9 and the longer we leave it, the harder it'll be. I'm going to get my final exam out of the way before I do anything, then I'm going to start gathering all the required docs ready to apply for visa. I'm going to start my job in jan, then email hospitals direct and get a feel for what's about whilst gaining experience. I'm also considering the graduates visa. I'm not really that sure, I think I'm getting a bit scared now that this might actually become a reality! Do you have any tips on conquering the IELTS?
  23. A variety of areas then, that will increase your options. We would prefer queensland's Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast which are popular areas I know so much more competition for jobs, especially grad positions! We would also consider Perth, WA, but out first choice is queensland. We lived in Qld for a short while, we were on a student visa and came home dueto our visa having lots of restrictions and me wanting to do my nursing. We loved the Sunshine Coast, miss it so much. If we go the PR route is it right that I need at least 12 months experience to qualify for it? I thought I knew this! I've read so much I'm forgetting what I've read! Good luck with everything. Keep in touch and let us know how your getting on x
  24. Thank you. I bet you handled everything just fine! I was thinking of applying to the graduate nurses programme but will still start my job in jan either way. I know it is difficult to get on to but what's the harm in trying? It's good to know I've got my job though incase nothing materialises. What areas are you thinking of?
  25. Hi, No I haven't started anything yet, I've just been looking into what needs to be done for when I do it. I am due to qualify in jan so not long now! I'm thinking of applying for a place on the graduate programme even though I know they are difficult to get on to. I have a job to start jan which I will start and get at least 1 years experience if I'm unsuccessful with grad visa. How long have you been nursing?
