  1. Hi Lorna, yes I'm still in the UK. We're moving to the Gold Coast soon. I was thinking if you were on Gold Coast I could help you xx
  2. Hi Lorna, where abouts in Aus do you live? I am due to Revalidate for the first time even though I'm emigrating soon. I don't want my UK registration to lapse either so I could do with doing mine soon too. X
  3. Hi, Go on NMC online, complete the application to request a COGS then you will be sent a letter and details of how to pay the fee. Once this is done the NMC will send the COGS directly to AHPRA.
  4. Hi Louloubelle, I rang AHPRA and was told you do not need an appointment and you can go to any branch in any area. Good luck with everything, keep us updated with your visit.
  5. Hi Charlotte, How did you get on today? What evidence did you show? Any tips for me? We are heading over to validate end of December. Any advice will be greatly welcomed. Hope you're enjoying it?
  6. Cheers Priscilla, I will start applying for jobs ASAP then. Do you think they will refuse to register me if I don't get a job offer in time? I wasn't sure if they would accept such a short term let as a temp address, but it's great if they do! The passport situation is a nightmare! It states they want original passport so I've delayed getting it renewed. I was thinking if I could manage to present earlier than anticipated, I could use the original for this and to also validate visa with, then renew and on re-entry I could use new passport but show old passport too. Nothing's ever straight forward with me! All of this is taking away the excitement of moving. Thanks again for you reply.
  7. Hi Priscilla, What ID did you have to produce? I know the Aus visa and passport need to be shown, just wanted to know if you had to show a Aus job offer etc? I need to present before 11th Jan to AHPRA and my letter in principle states that I need to supply either a job offer or ID that shows Aus addresses. As we can't move to Aus until our house is sold, I haven't applied for jobs as I can't give employers a move date, therefore no job offers to and we don't have an Aus address. I'm just wandering how people that have presented to them have got around this? Also it states that I must show original passport. My passport is due to expire in March so i would need to present ASAP, if not I won't have my original passport but a new passport! Sorry for all the questions.
  8. Hi Loulou, As you have already presented to AHPRA, I wonder if you could help me. I have recently had my visa granted and need to present myself at an AHPRA office within the next 5 months. (we were hoping to validate jan). In my notice in principle letter it states that I need to provide my international passport containing Australian visa, an updated version of COGS (over 6 months old) and either 1) a signed statement from a prospective Australian employer, veryfiying my identity OR 2) an origional offer of employment. The situation is that we need to sell our house before we move to Australia (Its taking longer than expected). I havent applied for any jobs because I have no idea when we will be able to move there, therefore can not provide AHPRA with either a statement from employer or offer of employment. Did you have to show a job offer or employer statement on presenting to AHPRA? If no were you asked to provide them? Thank You
  9. Our visas were granted at 4am this morning. I can't believe it! So excited. Just got to sell the house and arrange pet shipping! My husband's notification email shows one of our old Australian addresses, I'm going to ring them and ask if this is a mistake. Good luck to everyone, I'm sure there will be more today xx
  10. Hi everyone, We're still waiting too. Extra docs were requested 25/2/16, I uploaded them on 18/3/16.

    Medicals

Hi, I'm a bit late posting this but just wanted to let everyone know what a great service we received when we went for our medicals. We decided to travel a bit further from home to Manchester to the government approved clinic and I'm glad we did too. It was over £200 cheaper than the two clinics closer to home and the service was excellent. We arrived an hour early and was greeted straight away, taken for coffee and told they would do our medicals earlier. Everything was very professional and the doctor was great. He made us all feel comfortable and at ease. I would definitly recommend this clinic.
  13. Great to hear things are going well. All the best xx
  14. Lovely post. Hope you continue to enjoy your new life in Aus. We hope to move to the Gold Coast. Which other suburbs would you recommend for a family with 2 children aged nearly 16 and nearly 10? Cheers.
  15. Hi rammygirl, We had to provide the information for our 189 visa. I think Steve should just send what he has and only apply to add name to certificate if it is requested. You're so right though, sometimes it really is best not to explore.
  16. Hi Steve, We've just had to get our daughter a full birth certificate because just like yours, hers had dashes where her dads name should've been. When I registered her birth, I went alone as my partner (baby's father) was at work. The registrar did not let me put his name on the certificate, firstly because we were unmarried and secondly because he was not present! Because we have since married, we were able to add fathers name to certificate and to also update my name to include my married name. It doesn't take long, you could apply for this online, then present at an office where you can sign for & collect certificate.
  17. Hi guys, The grants seem to be getting quicker! Congrats to everyone who's had theirs. Does anyone know an easy way of making form 80, one document? Apart from scanning and uploading each page, I haven't got a clue! Also if I did upload each page, that would take me right over the maximum amount of documents! Cheers.
  18. Thank you all for your replies. I'm going to follow Captain C's advice and see how I get on. Fingers crossed everything goes well. Cheers
  19. Thanks Loulou, will do. I really do hope things will turn out well ??
  20. Hi, We recently got a quote for a 20ft container from Burke Bros £3770, then insurance on top.
  21. Thanks for the advice CaptainC, I will do that, it is embarrassing but I've come too far to let his rubbish memory let me down! Thanks again
  22. Hi, just wondering if anyone has been in a similar position. I have recently put visa application, when completing, I asked my husband if he had a criminal record, to which he said no! Police checks were completed and his came back saying No live trace! When I questioned him about it he looked mortified as he had forgotten an incident over 20 years ago (drunk and disorderly). I am absolutely devastated as it now looks like I lied on my application! I have found a form that I can fill out to provide correct answers, which I will do and send to my case office along with a letter of apology and explanation. Do any of you know if I can do anything else to put this right? Many thanks
  23. Congratulations to those of you who have received grants x
  24. Congratulations to everyone that got invitations today. I got mine too! I can't believe it I only put EOI in on 20th Jan.
