  1. We were there in November last year, not too busy and was one of the best things we did in the month by far!!! joe
  2. Ha Southchick described it a lot better than me! Carrie took the advanced one in December and got 8,8,7.5,7.5 which was great as we could start anmac but gutted as she had to take the general one for the 8's! Where abouts in Cornwall are you based? We are in bristol. Looking to reside around Hallett cove/Seaford rise area of adelaide when we get there (fingers crossed)
  3. The medicals are the last bit really. Carrie has joined Healthcare Australia a nursing agency all over Australia and adelaide and brisbane had the most Paed jobs. In regards to an agent just shop around and get recommendations from previous people as I have heard some terrible stories! Hopefully you won't be far behind us!!
  4. So what score do you need for your visa on ielts? Carrie had to get all 8's as she wasn't claiming for experience if I remember rightly? She took it 4 times all in all, had to have tuition and bought extra books! She's not stupid by any stretch just the scoring system is so bad it just catches a lot of people out! Don't take it lightly that's all I can say! We have flights provisionally booked for 15th October!
  5. So we at first took the academic ielts test to get 7's to start the anmac process. If you haven't already revise, revise, revise for ielts as its just a massive money maker and trips a lot of people up!! It's not easy! We are going on a 189 permanant resident visa as it was the best option for us! Joe
  6. Hi miacattv Me and my girlfriend are just going through the final stages of our visa now and Carrie is a Paed nurse. We are also moving to adelaide in October. She had the same problem as you in that her line manager wasn't on the Christmas card list to say the least and had to go through her for her reference. She has had a rough time since, being put on 7 weekends in a row etc but no matter how hard it seems just keep thinking of the main goal. It's all that's kept us going! if you need any advice then drop us a message we've done everything without an agent! cheers Joe and Carrie
  7. Hi guys any idea where to find this? Visa has been submitted for nearly 2 weeks and want to book medicals. cheers Joe
  8. Hi guys, Myself and the other half are in the visa process to move to Adelaide later this year and are currently looking at which suburbs would best suit us? We want to be near the beach but also somewhere that is family friendly and things to do e.g markets etc. would be great to hear from anybody with some suggestions! Cheers Joe & Carrie
  9. Hi Sophie, I hope your job hunt is going well....have you managed to get registered and secure a job yet? Maybe agency would be a good idea? I am also a Paediatric Nurse looking to emigrate on a PR visa. I have just taken my IELTS and am just about to start my ANMAC assessment shortly. I currently have 6 months post registration experience but hoping to have 18 months by the time we move (fingers crossed!) we are looking at the Brisbane Area, there seem to be lots of agency work there! Carrie
  10. Hi all, we're just in the early stages of applying for our visa and was wondering when you apply to ANMAC do they send you a specific checklist of documents to be certified? Also can they be done with one certification if you catch my drift instead of individually? regards Joe and Carrie
  11. I am also waiting for my results on Friday. Have not been so nervous since waiting to hear if I qualified as a nurse!! Also need 8's. Felt ok about the reading and listening but worried about the writing and speaking!! Good luck all!! Want to get this visa ball rolling!! Carrie
  12. Although she has a degree she didn't pass her dissertation module so took the degree without honours. Will this affect her registering?
  13. Hi Gaia yes she has started working in a HDU since June, we have a road trip planned from brisbane to Sydney for 4 weeks this November so when we get back she would of been in that position for 6 months. she will probably have a years experience by the time were in full swing in applying for positions would that be suffice? Someone mentioned to me that in Australia they don't train as children's nurses so it's a specialist area is this correct? thanks for your feedback guys much appreciated :-) cheers Joe
  14. Thanks chicken I have been scouring through that thread looking for answers. Just got to work out where the best place to locate will be. We've been looking at north lakes I believe it's called as it isn't too far out of the city for work etc does anyone live here or have any suggestions of this at all? Thanks Joe
