aliandshane
Hi all, Can anyone advise me on the above please? In the process of applying, vetassess posted this week and was planning on booking on an IELTS (earliest I can find is end of May). However, when I go to book it asks if I want General or Academic. How do I find out? I'm applying at HR Advisor but can't find anything on vetassess website. Does it matter?? Thanks for any help. Sephie
If you only need the IELTS for migration purposes, then you'd need to do the General one. However, as we wanted more options open to us (me and my husband) as we may decide to do study in Australia eventually, we opted to do the Academic one! lebourvellec
You will need to sit the General test (academic more for doctors/nurses/accountants). My OH is an Engineer and the General one was all he needed.
Candygirl
Most people are required to sit the General Exam. Some people need to get 8 across the board and have struggled with the Writing. After sitting the General Writing, people have switched to the Academic Writing and have found it easier to pass. Good Luck with your exam.
