Guest flyngo
We are considering applying for state sponsorship but have just found out we will be allocated an area to live and work in. I'm a bit worried well get an awful area so just thought I'd ask where everybody else was allocated
rammygirl
You don't get allocated. You apply for a state. In some cases those states want people to settle outside of the main metro areas so you may need to live/work in more suburban/rural areas - but you choose where. some states don't have any restrictions on area, you apply for jobs wherever you want. have a look here and follow the links for each state to find out more. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/176/nom-state-terr.htm Have a good look here for 176 visa. Guest blackpool3
Hi - We went down the state sponsorship route due to changes in the skilled Occupation lists and have just got our 475 visa - this allows us to live and work in a rural area of Western Australia (basically anywhere outside of the Perth Metro area). We are looking at Mandurah and hoping to find work there....regards Steve
