janice1uk
Hi we had our meds on march 4 2011 and are still waiting for our visa. My 7 year old sons has been referred as he is small for his age. At the medicals all went well and doc said there were no problems. We have now had to take him to a specialist and have a report done we are now waiting for the report to be sent to panel doctor who will then send to diac. So it can take ages or it can be staight forward and grant within days you can never tell. By the way there is nothing wrong with my son he is totally healthy so sometimes they can just be picky. Good luck with yours.

Hi, I have been reading with interest your posts re your son and the issues you have had with his medicals because he is short, and as you have said, has no medical problems just short for his age, I have children 2 of whom are small for their age, like you, nothing wrong with them, they just small, like me, I am only 5ft and weigh 7 stone so am very petite, my son who is 13 is very small for his age and skinny as can be as he is a footballer and bmx (er) so constantly active, my 8 year old is in age 5/6 clothes as small like me, their father is not exactly large only 5ft 10 ish and slim build, surely they must take this into account when assessing children?? :arghh:

I think what happened is our other boys are all the right height and weight for there age and my 6 year old son is taller than his older brother. Thats all i can put it down to anyway. We have seen a specialist who is now doing a report for DIAC so we are back to waiting yet again. As you say the specialist did take into consideration my husband and my height and asked other question regarding pubity and also did an xray of my son hand to access bone growth rate but all is well and thats what counts. Hope all goes well for you.
