Hi Marky, Can't help you much hun but there are quite a few jobs advertised for cnc operators. I'm always look through the job pages in the west australian & that's what my BIL does. Here's a few good sites for you to have a look at & you can see whats available. http://www.westjobs.com.au , http://www.thewest.com.au , http://www.seek.com.au , http://www.jobsearch.gov.au , Good luck & hope you don't have to wait to much longer for your visa. :) X

I work in the oil and gas industry. My employer is arranging a 121 visa and I am going to Perth hopefully. From what I am told, the oil and gas industry is only beginning to take off in Oz, so there will be plenty of work for men of your skills.

My brother in-law does what you do and he was offered plenty of work in Perth because of the oil industry. He works in Aberdeen and decided not to move to Oz for personal reasons.

I would say that Perth should be a good bet for you. Don't take my word for it though. I will say that you are on the right track though. I'm not sure what the 176 visa is. If it a state sponsored visa, I would say that you made a good choice in WA.

I would say that you are getting in at the right time.
