Hi,

If you go for a 176 visa, do you have to pay for your children's education or is this just for the temp working visa?

I'm not sure if you have to pay on a 176 but it will depend on which state you live in. I think you only have to pay in NSW or ACT. Check out the dept of Education for the state you are going to live in.

176 is a permanent visa so you wont have to pay the education fees that are levied on temporary residents and international students.

However, pretty much all schools will invite you to pay a "voluntary" contribution of around $100 a term. Technically it is voluntary but morally it tends to be compulsory.

If you go to a private school however then fees are set by the school and can be anywhere between $3k and $30k pa depending on the school and its status
