Any school recommendations for QLD? (brissie & cairns)

Heading to either brissie or cairns in Aug 2011. Just wondering for any families already out there - do you have any recommendations for schools - private or state for consideration for our children?

 

We have 2 boys - the oldest is 3 and would be starting pre-school nursery here in the UK in August - so we are looking for good kindy/primary schools in anticipation that we may have to go on long waiting lists.

 

Any advice or imparting of your experience thus far would be appreciated.

Any idea which suburbs, North or South, it is a large city so a lot of schools to cover.

Michelle there are so many schools it would be impossible to answer. There are many great govt primary schools that are catchment controlled so no waiting list. Great non govt schools spread all over Brisbane that may have a waiting list. I would just say that if going private you can live almost anywhere, whereas if you are going govt you may need to be more selective where you live. 'On average', they are better the closer you live to the cbd but you can find good schools all over.
