kernow43
National treasure Claude Choules - Australia's oldest man and the world's last surviving World War I veteran - has died, aged 110. Guest Guest31881
I was reading his story on the BBC site and about how he turned into a pacifist in later life, refusing to march in parades. he would have been an interesting person to talk to. Another Briton, Florence Green - who turned 110 in February and was a waitress in the Women's Royal Air Force - is now thought to be the world's last known surviving service member of WWI. I would have loved to have met these people and listen to their stories, once these people have gone then little bits of history disappear with them.
