Congratulations Jsnowling on your visa, thats fantastic news.

Its actually Oz thats asked for more info Helen, apparently because most of his tests were done 2 years ago, they are out of date so now my poor little man has to go through a whole load more tests,(as if he dont go through enough tests already seeing his consultant & eye specialist every few months). I know they need to be sure but just more delays & money for us. I just hope his consultant will help us out again.

Just an update. Agent phoned today & want more medical info on my son

Not really sure what they want as we've given all info we can give. They want a prognosis for the future which is like asking 'how longs a piece of string'!!!!

They also want him to see a Nephrologist, which apparently specialises in kidneys, his kidneys have been checked & are all clear and his reports show this so i'm not really sure what else we can give them.

Just another hurdle to clear I suppose.

Hi shaza, just read this and it was like deja vu. We are in the exact same position. Our son has mild autism although has never been diagnosed. They think he has ASD (he has a SEN statement and is monitored by the hospital). We've just seen a paediatrician on request from the HOC, and now have to wait (again) for a decision or more delays possibly if they want more.

Our son is also very small for his age and so they think he might require the growth hormone.

How can they ask what his prognosis will be for the future? How do we know? And how on earth can a doctor who's never seen him before today make that decision?

This is legalised torture and were paying for it too!!

Good luck with yours and I'll let you know how ours goes.

Jen.

We have not long had our visa. and went through getting letters from hospitals, and

forwarding via Maidenhead to Sydney hoc. Very stressful. and what they are looking for is "how much will it cost in the first years of you being in oz." They donot want big bills, and i did read that if they expect it to be so much in the first few years they will refuse your visa, but you can appeal, My husaband was having lucentis injections in his eye, nine over a year at a £1000 a time, to stop his eye sight deteriorating in one eye. However, the doctor co-operated at the hospital, and his letter was

very encouraging. hoc were asking if he could get on a bus, dress himself etc. The hospital wrote back and said he had a full british driving licence and was quite capable of

all activities they had asked about. However, if Gordan Brown could run the country with one eye, surely thats good enough!!!!!

In the end, i gave my son authority to deal with it on oz, and it was soon sorted.

Good luck, and i am sure re-assurance will do the trick. Get loads of letters with good outlooks.

regards helen arthur.PS we fly out oin 2 days (i am in my 80th year, must be mad)
