Guest conork Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Hello all Just a quick one. I am in Sydney now and my first WHV is up in July so its off to rural Oz for some work. A friend of mine told me that if you have family that are citizens they can sponsor you for the 2nd year WHV and you dont have to do the farm/rural work, does anyone know if this is true?? I have tried to look up info on the web but cannot find anything. My aunt lives Adelaide for the last 20 years and would be more than happy to help me out if she can. Thanks in advance for the help! Conor
LisaIan Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I've never heard anything along these lines. As far as I'm aware the only way to obtain a 2nd whv is to undertake the specified work for 3 months/88 days. A family member sponsoring you would be a completely different visa.
Joebloggs Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 That sounds like nothing more than pub talk .....probably at best confusion with 679 Sponsored family visitor visa (Not for work) This is the eligibility for 2nd WHV. You have to do the 88 days rural work and they now check every application because it has been abused. ie people making it up
