Hi Folks,

Some fantastic advice and info on this website, well done!!

Hopefully somebody will be able to advise on my questions. I hold permanent residency (Class BW resident P, sub class 856). Due to unforseen circumstances I had leave my job in australia after 4 years and am now looking at returning to oz to work for another company. Does anybody know if my visa restricts me from working for other companies??

Also for the financial whizz-kids.......if I hold onto my property in Ireland, obtain interest only mortgage and treat as an investment will I be able to claim the expenses (interest, depreciation etc) on this investment as any other normal negatively geared investment in oz?

many thanks

ff

Guest Australian Property

Hi FF

Basically from what you have laid out as a PR status, your income and debt will be subject to Australian taxation law, and yes it should operate as you have stated.

However it is always best to be safe and have a professional check for you, I can recommend Joff Martin ex Deloitte Touche : 07 3870 3840 (int 00 61 7 3870 3840)

Regards

Chris
