veronica
Hi Just wondering if anyone can help please, how did you go about finding an employer to sponsor you? My husband is a carpenter and we are planning to go to Perth, originally we were going to apply on a 176 family sponsorship but the 457 option seems to be a lot quicker.also do we still need family sonsorship for this type of visa? He has applied to Vetasses and are waiting on the result hopefully in time to take the practical test in May. Any suggestions please? TraceyandAlan
Hi Veronica You don't need family sponsorship if you are going out on a employer sponsored 475. Its not a very easy route if you are not in Australia all ready. My advice would be search for recruitment agencies that deal with your husbands trade. Some larger firm who have experience with 475 may be interested but if a firm has never gone down the 475 route before and they say they will look in to it, then it is unlikely. The reason is, there is a huge amount of paper work involved for a firm to do their first 475 registration with DIAC. However if they have done it before, as many very large companies have, then its easy enough. Maybe your family know a firm that has experience with the process. Just be aware its not an easy road unless maybe you could afford to make a trip out there, as we were advised to!!!
veronica
Thank You Tracey & Alan,I think we will have to search the internet for some agencies,we are planning a trip to Perth in October and ideally it would be nice to have a few employers to see while we are there.
