Guest tiarna
Just wondered if anyone knew, as a friend mentioned something about my visa which I wasn't aware of. We move back to the Uk the end of the month from Adelaide. I couldn't settle for a lot of reasons. But we decided to wait unil our temporary visa was made permanent before we returned to the UK just in case. We have now received our permanent visa which is a Class VB subclass 887 Skilled - regional visa. We have been living in Adelaide since we arrived 2.5 years ago as that was where our temporary visa allowed us to go. With the permanent visa, if we did decide to return in the future, could we go to another area of Australia or would it have to be Adelaide? Thanks for any advise
Guest proud2beaussie
As far as I am aware a permanent visa allows you to go wherever you choose . http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/887/
Guest tiarna
Thanks for that. Its good to know as if we did decide to come back it would have to be another part of Australia as the heat here is too much for me.
Woofyhugger
Also be aware if you are not an Australian Citizen, but a permanent resident (like me), you will need a Resident Return Visa to be allowed back in the country. I believe you lose your permanent resident status if you do not return to Australia within 5 years.
