Hi John

It is a bit unpredictable at the moment. Somebody who applied on 12 Jan got their WA sponsorship yesterday or the day before. I've heard 8-10 weeks for later applications and that could get worse.

Bear in mind that your sc 175 application would just be left running, however.

Best wishes

Gill

Hiya, we changed from 175 to 176 for WA - application made 9th March - and our agents said we are probably looking at 2 months before we hear anything. This must be the longest two months EVER!

So if it's starting to take a while for the 176 is it worth changing to it or if we did change and the 175 caught up would we then have to wait for the 176 or would they go back to our original 175 application. sorry to gabble:confused:

I know, its a tricky one, but I think they are saying a year now for the 175 so surely doing the 176 will be much quicker - once you have been granted SS things will move faster - wont they??

Dear Friend,

I am skilled visa 175 applied online on 11th march 09.I have applied the state sponsor to Victoria.Today i received my grant letter 23rd march.I have lot of doubt regarding this grant letter. Please anybody clear my doubts.

What is the meaning of the SBMP visa is it PR or Only two years living Permission visa?

If i am not getting my professional,Could i do any other job.?

What is the time limit shall i enter the state if i get the visa from DIAC?

And finally the ASPC statement the state sponsored visa allocated case officer within ten days,Is it true, shall i get my co within ten days?

Thousand of questions and confusions,i dont have any agent i did all the processing my own. Please advice

Ritu

Hi

We have also swapped. You dont technically swap initially. Your 175 is still running, then you contact WA to see if they will sponsor you. This can be 4 - 6 weeks we were told, maybe its because my wife is a specialist nurse (not sure if speeds things up a bit), once they say 'yes we'd love to sponsor you' they allocate you a case officer, usually around 10 days later and then usually another 10 days to get your visa.

The case officer from WA contacts the DIAC and informs them that you are changing from the 175 to a 176.

Hope this helps, of course all the times etc vary so much all the time. I would say swap, thats what we did but who knows, we're still waiting too !!!

Good Luck

Hi

We got our State Sponsorship from Victoria on 05/03/09. Our agent had to let them know that we take it and fill in Form 1100. Victoria informed us on 12/03/09 that they had received the email from our agent and confirmed on 18/03/09 that they have now processed Form 1100 at their end and will send it off to DIAC.

According to our agent, DIAC is currently being swamped with 1100 forms so that it will take them some time to process these and allocate them to the right visa applications. Once the form is processed, that is when the clock starts ticking for the 10 days of allocating a CO! Therefore, it is not as fast as some people might think.

DIAC does also not specify how long it then takes after you have got a CO. Some people seem to be lucky and get it within 10 days but that doesn't seem to be the norm (see beupdate.co.uk). It really depends if they need any more info, if you are from a HR or LR country, if you had your meds done etc. We personally feel 2-3 months after CO allocation could be realistic for us, as we have not had our meds or police checks done.
