RaT Posted February 8, 2009 Share Posted February 8, 2009 As we have a 175 visa application in, but no sign of a CO and having not done meds etc, there is not much chance of the Visa being granted soon, is it necessary to inform the DIAC that we will be visiting AUss for a holiday in a few weeks time? Guest harrison family Posted February 9, 2009 Share Posted February 9, 2009 We are in the same situation, we are visiting in April we do have a CO and have done meds and pc, we also obtained a tourist visa if you are given a pr visa it will just mean you're tourist visa will be cancelled. The only thing to make sure of is you can not be in Australia when you're PR is issued. might have to take a 2 day trip to New Zealand. We have submitted all docs to DIAC through our agents. ROughly how long did it take you to get to your current stage, ie medicals etc? We have frontloaded Meds & PC as don't want the hassle later. After talking to immi, we are have decided to wait in Oz & when the visa is due to be granted we will head off to NZ. Good luck! Guest harrison family Posted February 9, 2009 Share Posted February 9, 2009 Hi Nicholas, Our time line is as : Appt Agent Nov 07 Vetasses Paper Assesment Dec 07 Passed Jan 08 Vetasses Practical (bricklayer) Apr 08 Practical Passed May 08 Visa submitted 04June08 CO appt 21Nov08 Meds 20Dec08 Pc done 6Dec08 Our Meds arrived in Sydney 8th Jan 09, we are waiting for our youngest daughter to be finalised the rest of us have been MET. It is a long time waiting, Be prepared ! Hubby is even on CSL I just want to know now so we can all just get on with life. Good Luck !
