Guest kiwi
You can do a package to Lone Pine taking a ferry ride from the city first if yo like. The drive up Mt Cootha is nice and you get panoramic views of the city. Southbank is lovely with the manmade beach and lots of cafes and little shops. Cal x Loved mount Tamborine but Glow worm caves were a big disappointment for us (2 adults & kids aged 12,10 &7) Infinity in Surfers paradise is different & fun (only 45 mins though) We also loved Mooloolabah, South Bank, Mt Coot-tha including Botanic gardens, Queensland Museum in the city for a freebie, & Gold coast theme parks :jiggy:

Guest Deb62
Hi, our favourties places tended to be places for picnics/BBQ's and short walks suitable for young children: Maiala (Mt Glorious) Kondallila Falls Brisbane Forest Park (Walkabout Creek is only small but kids love it, and you might get to see the platypus if you're lucky!) Noosa National Park Binna Burra (Lamington National Park) O'Reilly's (Lamington NAtional Park) For camping: Peach Trees at Jimna Binna Burra

Guest Esselte
Cedar Creek Falls at Mount Tamborine is a nice day out. There's an easy hike and a hard one (haven't done the hard one!) Scenery is fantastic! You can take your own eskie and snags for a bbq or there's a couple of pubs nearby (I recommend the Irish one whose name escapes me!) Guest sweety
Hi there.. Im writing up a list of activities for children for my court case on what Australia has to offer that UK don't.. So far, all my children do is Football (when its not raining) and Drama/Dance classes and swimming and every half term will go away to some theme park/camping/Holidays.. etc I was just wondering what the price comparisons are if anyone could let me know that would be great! Keep smiling Saffy
millars
I'd say the kids activities available are pretty much the same as the UK, although more outdoors. Lots of swimming (public pools are cheap), & if near a beach a lots of kids go to surf school. Rugby is big in Queensland. Football (soccer) is available but only short season where we are (end Feb - Aug) and more epensive than the UK in our experience. As long as the kids make friends (which they will), there's always a park nearby where they can play out, and if you don't have a pool one of their friends probably will lol! All the kids here have bikes, scooters & skateboards. Good luck :jiggy:
