I have never driven a auto car so i would need a manual, is this going to be a problem? Also can I drive in Oz on a uk license for this period of time? PommyPaul Posted October 11, 2008 Share Posted October 11, 2008 Are you going on a residents visa or a holiday visa, if you're a resident you've got a maximum of 3 months to get your aussie drivers license, if you're on a holiday visa you can drive on a uk license for upto a year. You'd be much much better off renting a car for the first week and buying a car after that, then you can sell the car after the 12 weeks and save yourself at least $4000!!!!!!!
