Guest nan
Hi I just found out that I have 125 points under Skilled Independent and 140 points under skilled Australian sponsored? Is it better to apply under subclass 136 or 138? Any ideas? Please help!

ali
I think a sponsored visa you have to go where the job is which may not necessarily be where you planned to go. Having said that, I have a friend who wanted to go to perth, but ended up in Coffs Harbour and loves it, so it can work out well. Ali
Alan Collett
With 125 points I would tend to go with the 136 category, as this removes the additional hurdle of the Sponsor completing form 40, and the timescale attaching to the compulsory Assurance of Support process. Make sure you are happy with your points calculation though ... Best regards.
Guest nan
Thanks guys! I think I will go down the 136 route. Satisfied with points calculations. Just found out that I need my qualifications assessed by the Australian CPA, at a cost of $350.00 and 5-8 weeks, even though my qualification as an accountant (FCCA) is recognised worldwide! Wish me luck! Nan
Alan Collett
Good luck Nan! If you are anxious to press on with the visa application I would consider the ICAA for the skills assessment - I tend to see classifications for Accountants with UK qualifications back from them in about 2 to 3 weeks ...
