SO! I want to go back to AUS to visit family and friends after going there on a Holiday Working visa back in 2013-14. I can't apply for a second Holiday working visa, so I believe the subclass 600 visitor visa is my best option since I want to stay for as long as possible (ideally for the full 12 months). I miss it so much! That being said, I feel like the government website is missing some details I need before I apply, so HALP! My questions are: If I have financial support from my mom in Canada and my Uncle in AUS, does that increase my chances of a longer stay? Or do I have to pay for everything myself? How much money should I have when I apply? Does your bank account influence the application process? Could I apply for the visa without having all the mandatory funds and continue to save until my departure? I have my family's home in AUS that I'll be staying at, does that help? If I get granted only 3 months or 6 months, can I reapply for more time? Or do I have to leave? I really want to make this work. I want to do it right, and I want to make sure I have all my t's crossed and i"s dotted. Any insight would be looooovely! Thank you! <3

Could anyone possibly answer a couple of questions for me. We are looking at applying for a Aged parent (804) visa for my parents soon and was wondering when the Assurance of Support bond is required? Is it paid right in the beginning when the application is submitted? Are there any other costs involved when submitting the initial application other then the fee for the visa.. and the 1st instalment of $2960 - is that per parent or a total amount? Also do the medicals and character checks have to be done when submitting the application or at what stage? Anyone who can assist I really appreciate it… Thanks

Hi, We are looking at applying for the Subclass 309 (temp) and subclass 100 (perm) visa for my partner. I believe that if my partner is successful in getting the temp 309 visa then we have to wait 2 years before the perm 100 visa will be looked into... Is this correct? Also, is it possible for us to move to australia under the temp 309 visa? Will my partner have to leave the country for the perm visa to be accpeted then?? One question: Is says on their PDF (1127.pdf) that:- 'You may, however, be granted a permanent visa without having to fulfil the usual two-year waiting period if: • at the time you apply, you have been in a partner relationship with your partner for 3 years or more, or 2 years or more if you and your partner have a dependent child of your relationship' We have been together (de-facto) for 10 years and have two daughters (aged 4 and 7 currently). Have anybody else been down this route and didn't have to wait 2 years for the perm (100) visa? If so, how did it all work and how long did you have to wait? Love to hear off someone who could clear this up for us!! EDIT: Sorry just found this information: Permanent Partner visa (subclasses 100 and 801) If you: • lodged your Partner visa application outside Australia; and • were outside Australia at the time you applied, you can be either in or outside Australia when the permanent Partner visa (subclass 100) is granted. But would love to chat to others in the same boat as us and find out any tips etc to helping us out! Thanks

Hi I am applying for a 101 visa for my youngest son. He was born after the rest of the family had obtained & validated our PR visas. So unfortunately we have to go through the complicated process of getting him is own PR. I was wondering if anyone else had doen this themselves recently? I have the 40CH and 47CH forms filled in. I am the sponsor as I was the main applicant on our original visas. My question is does my husband (also childs father) need to complete form 1229 to say he has parental responsibility? We are a straight forward family unit (1st marriage for both and 2 of our own childen) and are all emmigrating together. Both of out names are on the child's birth cerftificate. On reading the 40CH form it looks like my husband does need to fill out a 1229 form but when I downloaded the 1229 it says it is for parents with Parental responsibility who are not emmigrating to australia. Hope this make sense. My head is aching with it all & the more I read the forms the more confused I get. :arghh: Thanks in advance.

Hi all, Currently applying for a Partner Visa. My partner was offered to relocate back to Sydney with a major bank. As my job was floundering we decided to grab the opportunity. I arrived in Australia in March 2011 on a 3 month tourist Visa then submitted my application (subclass 820) in Sydney around the 10th of that month. I received an email acknowledgement the money had been taken and they were starting the process. **Would arriving on a visitor visa and then applying for the partner visa straight away work negatively against me?** As yet I haven't had any further correspondence, only to confirm a change of address (Which I had to chase). As I understand the average waiting time is now around 9 months, something I hadn't originally anticipated. I have enquired about working on the Bridging Visa I am now on. I have emailed twice but not had anything back **Can anyone tell me the conditions on working on a Bridging Visa, as they appear to be a bit vague on the forms I have read. It just uses the language "Under exceptional circumstances". (I would have thought 9 months out of work for anyone would have been exceptional circumstances).** Currently one salary is supporting us, we are housesitting so no rent. There will be a time soon when we will have to find somewhere to rent. I have savings in the UK and Singapore so I guess any decision on allowing me to work is based on this? My savings are for a house deposit though. I'd be happy to pick up some work to tied me over. Any advice would be much appreciated. Regards,

Is anyone can help to answer me some questions... My issue is that I've applied 485 visa at 10th of March, by the time I lodge the application, I enattach the reference number of IELTS test which I sat on 5th of March. But I failed the test with listening 5.5. So I applied another test immediately after I have the results for my first test, but next test will be held at 2nd of April, which means that I cannot lodge my second ielts result within 28days after the visa application by the time the second test result has been released. In my situation, does it mean that my 485 visa will definitely be refused? Or is there anything I can do? I've been searching on the Internet about this issue, some says that it would be fine as long as I lodge the result before the case office starts to look my case, but other says that it has to be within 28 days. I feel helpless and confused. Someone please help!!!

Hi guys, been a while since i posted and needing some advice from anyone who has applied for a subclass 300. Just got back from my trip to Oz to see my OH and now have a lovely sparkler on my finger :cute: As me and my Fiance haven't lived together for 12 months, i will need to apply for the prospective marriage visa. Now i have the forms and have read all the info but it is quite confusing with regards to the information required. So many questions but i will try and condense 1) the sponsor form - will my Fiance have to return the form and all his documents to me to be sent with mine or can he send it direct from Australia? and does anyone know where he has to get his documents certified? 2) The statements from family and friends - does it have to be family or can it just be friends as there is some family conflict :frown: 3) the police check and medical - am i best getting it all done before i apply or when asked? 4) the supporting evidence - will skype conversations, emails, phone bills be sufficient as well as my flight info and piccies of us together? 5) where do i have to get my documents certified? apologies if this is on the form/website but i don't seem to be able to find the info and finally 6) the statement by 2 australian citizens - can that be combined with his family/friend statements or does it have to be done by different people? i'm sure i will be asking more questions as it is quite daunting doing something so important by myself  thanks in advance to anyone who can help me

Subclass 475 (South Aus) - problems after lodging appl with DIAC
Etienne posted a topic in Visa Chat
Hi, I received a sponsorship letter from the South Aus (SA) gov in Sept 2008. I realised that their rules changed on 1 Jan 2009, but they confirmed that I still fall under their old rules (6 months to lodge an appl with DIAC as opposed to 60 days). I therfore completed my DIAC application last night online, and where given a TRN as soon as I made the credit card payment. I was taken to a screen with a document checklist, a function to attach scanned documents, and a function to create a password. I had a look at the document checklist (and realised that I had MOST of the required documents), so the next step would have been to scan the documents this week and attach them) I wrote down my TRN (as I am supposed to fax it through to the SA gov) I created a password (the function required it be entered twice) MY PROBLEM: When I tried to access the attaching of scanned documents to applications function afterwards, it kept on refusing my password. This worries me as I would like to get the documents attached to my application as soon as possible. I am not sure why my password being refused, but the DIAC site is quite vague on what my alternatives are. It states that "Applications lodged on or after 1 September 2007...If you lodged a paper application or you are unable to attach documents to the application online through the eVisa system they can be emailed to the department...adelaide.gsm.documents@immi.gov.au...When your application has been assessed you will be advised of a further email address to use in providing documents. Please only send documents to that address" ???? - I am now 100% confused, do I email the documents (such as passport bio page, sponsorship letter, etc) to the email address stated, or do I wait for them to ask for ANY documents??? The SA gov letter states that I must "FAX a copy of the full Notification document with the TRN number from DIAC together with a copy of this letter to Immigration SA on +61 8 8204 9244" - my online application did not supply a full Notification document, but did supply a TRN. It did however supply a full copy of my application which states the TRN. What exactly am I supposed to fax and is there any way I can make sure they received it and are dealing with it? Any advise greatly appreaciated. Et -
Just wondering can we check the progress of the application of visa subclass 119 online? I have been trying to do so on the immigration website but the TRN comes out to be invalid. Also how long does it normally take for this process to complete??

We have been awarded a 475 regional provisional visa sponsored by Western Australia. Due to lack of job offers etc we have not been able to emigrate and our visa expires in July 2010 if it's not activated. Can we go over for a holiday just to activate it and return home after a couple of weeks? Will it remain active for the three years it's supposed whilst we're in the UK, for us to return to Oz when possible? Is it possible to change visa categories without starting the whole process again? Our circumstances have changed and I think we would qualify for an independent migrant (subclass 175) visa. Thanks dazarooni

Hi There I've just applied for subclass 100 (PR) from a Subclass 309 (provisional resident) visa. I've been living onshore for 15 months. I'm told the processing times are 6-8 months. Does anyone have any experience with this process? Did it really take that long? Cheers

Hi everyone, hope all Visa lodgements are going well for you all! I applied for my Partner Subclass 309 visa back in March 2009, which was granted by June 2009 and I moved out here in July 2009, it was all fairly straightforward, we didnt hire a migration officer and I double & triple checked everything before it was sent. All that seemed to go through fine, and like I said I was on my way by July. No one seems to really tell you much information about the second stage of this visa, I was advised to contact Immigration 22months after I lodged the application, so that I could continue with the next stage, I have done that and I am waiting on the paperwork arriving, hopefully any day now. When I asked the lady on the phone what it actually is, she said just more paperwork to show that you are still together (which we are, and getting married in July!) Does anyone know what the paperwork is/what kind of questions? is it basically just the first process all over agian? How long does it take to come back? do you get interviewed? And is there another cost involved? Its quite confusing, as you sort of forget after being here for 2 years that you are STILL only a temporary resident! But it does present a few obstacles with things such as loans, insurance etc. Any help would be very much appreciated, sorry for the long post , thanks

Hi everybody! Could someone please help me with this one: I am an Australian citizen, currently in Europe - I've married an Austrian(not Australian girl, after few years of knowing her. I need to go back to Oz. And we would like to stay together. We heard for that 'Onshore Subclass 820' solution (or is it a 'solution'?), but we don't know how it actually works. Does it work at all? Could she enter Australia with me, then we apply for that Subclass 820, and wait for the decision while we are both in Australia? She could stay in Australia for three months with her Austrian passport/tourist visa, and decision about the Subclass 820 takes much longer! What to do? How to do it? Please help. Desperately in love, and desperately wanting to stay together.

What are the pros/cons of "Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 475)" vs "Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 176)" Processing time differance between Priority & Non Priority ?? Obligations ?? Points ?? Any other hidden Pros/Cons Best Regards Chris

Hi I just received my Subclass 176 VISA. The problem is that I have a Victorian state sponsorship. I was wondering if I could leave Victoria and start working in Queensland? I would prefer living in Brisbane. Can I leave Victoria and live in Queensland or will I have to stay in Victoria? And if I do, then for how long? Thank you

Going from ETA (subclass 976) to defacto (subclass 820) or sponsorship (subclass 457)
Guest posted a topic in Visa Chat
Hello I recently entered Australia on an ETA visa with the intention of applying for a defacto visa once landing. I rang immigration yesterday and was told that regardless of how quickly my bridging visa was granted, it would not be activated until my ETA visa had expired (90 days from entering the country) and that I wouldn't be eligible to work until this time. Is there any way around this restriction? I can think of worse places to be unemployed for 3 months  but am keen to get working as soon as possible! I also have a potential Australian job offer in the pipeline. Is there anything my prospective employer can do to get me into work more quickly? Immigration told me over the phone that a sponsorship visa also required my ETA to expire before being activated. Thanks in advance! -
