How children easily adapt!!

Since the Olympics our eldest son has been watching them at every spare moment. When I asked him who he would 'go for' he said Australia but he would want GBR to do well also....he is only 6!!

Anyway when he was watching it tonight and Leisel Jones (AUS) won a gold medal for the 100 metres breaststroke, and they presented it to her, the national antham came on and he sang it word for word....I even had a tear in my eye!! Bless him.

Now I couldnt tell you what all the words are, (it just shows how easily children adapt and pick things up at school).

For all of you that want to know the words here they are.

Words

Advance Australia Fair

"Australians all let us rejoice,

For we are young and free;

We've golden soil and wealth for toil;

Our home is girt by sea;

Our land abounds in nature's gifts

Of beauty rich and rare;

In history's page, let every stage

Advance Australia Fair.

In joyful strains then let us sing,

Advance Australia Fair.

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross

We'll toil with hearts and hands;

To make this Commonwealth of ours

Renowned of all the lands;

For those who've come across the seas

We've boundless plains to share;

With courage let us all combine

To Advance Australia Fair.

In joyful strains then let us sing,

Advance Australia Fair."

I sang it Deb while I read it! The kids sing it in school all the time and I remember my Daughter singing it not long after we arrived here. It's not as boring as 'God save the Queen' is it? lol

My daughter is 17 and already in OZ. She has been ther 2 years and feels Australian. She came to visit for 2 months December to February and within 2 weeks felt English so I guess she will always be split between the 2 countries but she is adamant that Australia is the place to live she just wishes we were there too. So do we and hopefully in the not too distant future!!!.......................:v_SPIN:
